Right - so I decided to do a little test.
M-Web:
=====
Speedtest.net - 0.06Mbps down, 0.3Mbps up, 30ms ping.
Youtube: Takes 30 to 40 minutes to load a 5 minute music video.
iTunes music store streaming: unusable - buffers every 2-3 seconds.
Skype: unusable.
Explanation: "get your ports reset, we'll reauthorise your account and suddenly it'll all be amazing" - done and done, it's still useless.
Openweb ON THE SAME LINE:
======
Speedtest.net - 3Mbps down, 0.45Mbps up, 40ms ping
Youtube: the same videos download almost fast enough to stream - if you pause it for a few seconds it has enough of a buffer to watch without buffering more.
iTunes: All previews work, all streaming works, the store loads instantly, app updates download at 150 - 250KB/s.
Skype: Works for the first time in months!
There you have it - proof that on NON-P2P, M-Web is obviously shaping severely.
So I just email
[email protected], right?
