@mweb and @dslmweb are the 2, changing it gives you a new i.p.

also using free sharing sites , with this method you don't have to wait 30mins to download a new file :P

Yes - I tried many files so far, each coming from different servers. They go at about 4.5 kb/s and die before they reach 500kb.

There are just some of the servers I downloaded from :
s272.filesonic.com
s273.filesonic.com
s223.filesonic.com
s204.filesonic.com

Can you please fix this?

Getting 25 - 35KBps on 10Mbit line/1Mbit uncapped.

Are you a free user or premium account user? I don't know why my speeds are so bad...

Free.

:(

I can test your account here if you like, PM me if you're interested.

Makes no sense to me. Gonna change realm back to @dslmweb and see if that helps.

Afternoon guys, please continue to monitor the speeds you obtain on filsonic; we tested with a Telkom account yesterday (4 meg) and we maxed out at 45kbps. Could be the servers itself.

@tiscali also works. I changed back to @dslmweb now.... no difference, still getting 4.5kb/s :(
PostmanPot, do you mind sending me the link to the file you have on filesonic? I would like to test with it.

I just went to filestube and searched "hello filesonic" and went for the first file. Tested DL'ing for a few moments to get average speed.

Hi there

I'm getting 90 - 95KBps on Telkom Internet 10Mbit.

Will let the DL run a little longer.

Did the same, still not getting more than 4.5kb/s on any file from filesonic.
Mweb, what's the problem here? Please fix.

Getting full speed 384k on Filesonic here in Durban, Mweb and Telkom

Didn't you notice that MWEBGuy is getting slow speeds with another isp that he tested that with as well? It might not be a fault at MWEB at all, but rather with the servers at filesonic. Also, have you checked with Telkom to see if it might be your line that is congested?

Rouxenator, you advised that you obtained over 400kbps after 10pm last night on this very site; please note that our stance on torrents has not changed. Your experience with this traffic will vary as you are on a shaped product; we urge you to look at the total bandwidth used on a monthly basis instead of "speed watching" on a daily basis.

My question is simple and plain : Why do some people on Mweb get 90kb/s or 45kb/s or even 38.4kb/s and I only get 4.5kb/s?

Uhm, a congested line perhaps.
No, I am not downloading anything else. When I stop the filesonic downloads and start something else it comes in at 400kb/s.

So the question remains - why do I get 4.5 kb/s on filesonic and other don't.

A congested line does not mean that you are downloading more than one file at once. It means that the line/exchange can be congested by other people using the same line/exchange. (Now starts the part where I talk out of my butt) Correct me if I’m wrong but, as far as I understand this, the traffic to filesonic may be congested in your area and others downloads from other sites might not be.

No, if there is congestion on my exchange then it will affect my all traffic. Remember that your connection is routed to your ISP and only from there is it branched out to where ever the server is you are connecting to. In my case I have no congestion on my line. Speedtests confirm I get 400kb/s 24/7. Other users on Mweb get much better speeds with filesonic and I want to know why my speeds suck.

No alternatives to filesonic ?
No, I have a 3 month premium membership with them.
