Thanks bud, it was a tongue-in-cheek response to be honest.

I try keep my revs low but its a 125 - doesn't work well.

To be honest this gearbox is amazing... whenever I need power to pass or accellerate quickly, I drop it down one or two gears with the paddle shifts and the power is there immediately.
Riding it in sport, it's like it's always in the right gear.

I had the Polo GTI 1.4 DSG, and that gearbox is freakin' awesome.... the auto on this bike beats it... never misses a beat

I like it as a Noob. One less thing to worry about. Twist and go.
 
Great thing is there is such a big choice in commuters now. You can go easy and comfy like the NC or more sporty like some nakeds or the smaller KTMs. Or even the 300cc sport bikes if you don't like having wrists and a back that are pain-free.

Haven't driven the GTI, but had the 1.2 TSI DSG twice now as a rental. Just about the best engine/gearbox combo I've driven.

Incidentally the worst was a CLA200...yay free upgrade to a Merc...gearbox pissed me before i even got out of the rental parking garage

Not to mention all the new 300cc ish bikes launched at the EICMA. Think there's a BMW, Kawasaki, Suzuki etc etc coming soon. Screens, panniers etc
 
Wait...make that second-worst. Most annoying was the first-gen Smart. That automatic-but-still-uses-a-clutch was hideous. Although going over speedbumps was hilarious, you climbed up the bump, along the top and then down the other side.

so think that... just a little bit better :D

If I could change anything about this bike, it would just be to untune the fuel efficiency part, and add more fukkoff. Or at least have a switch... Commute or Fukkoff mode :D :D

Only by accident when I was still hanging on with a death grip ;)
Sport revs a lot higher, in D I'm in 6th gear by 66km/h.
 
Yea I enjoyed Sport mode but found it a bit aggressive for general riding. D is very relaxed.

Screens...pfft....panniers....pfft.
Having said that, riding an hour face-first into the south-Easter did make me miss having a screen.

I'm loving my screen and topbox on my 1050. I'm very interested in the KTM 800 duke when it comes out but now that I've had a taste of the good life... ;)
