You all need some road tyres then.
I'm on 11000km now and my Michelin Pilot Road 4's look brand new.
How does this tyre handle mud, shallow sand, river crossings and rocky mountain climbs?

Did my 10,800 km service today at Donford Motorrad in Cape Town and I got a very very tall brand new (literally) 2017 F800GS to ride for the day. (More on that later when I have energy)

Overall very very impressed. I was bargaining on R2000 but what I didn't expect was for that to include the brake fluid change.
My Triumph was never less than R2000 to service and usually far far more and I don't think it ever got a brake fluid change in the 36000km I had it.
Anyone tried D606's? I want some for my new DRZ400.

I did a lot of service price comparisons between my F800GS and a friend's Tiger 800 XC and the BMW was significantly cheaper on all the services.
Filled up this morning.
9.829L doing 238.9km gives me 4.11L/100KM or 24.31KM/L
Filled up again after this.
10.129L doing 247.8KM gives me 4.09L/100KM or 24.46KM/L
the bike reported 3.9L/100KM on the clocks
Cars do the same. Onboard computer is more optomistic when it comes to fuel economy. I get 5.9 in the Jazz but when I run the numbers it's more like 6.1/6.2
well the jazz and my bike is basically the same vehicle![]()

Got a little reminder today that wet white lines are slippery. Touched one at about 60 and my bike had a little fit.
