Honestly, I hit a speedbump the other day (didn't know it was there) - one of those 60* jobs - and my seating position basically joined my tank and nuts in unholy matrimony. So the spanner may be unnecessary at this point :crylaugh:

This helmet visor darkens on sunlight. Pretty cool and very good deal at R2k. Wish I wasn't broke :(

Wow that is a bargain of note.

Bells are very good and very safe.

Especially at that price it outclasses some stuff fours times more expensive.

So, with morning temperatures dropping, what are some of you guys doing to keep warm? Glove liners, long Johns, extra jersey under you jacket with liners?

For R2000?! That was going for R5500 a month or two back when I was looking for a helmet.

With proper gear you shouldn't need any additional.

I have RST winter gloves and Alphinestars over pants that go over my jeans and that's it.

Oh and one of those neck tube thingies.

Mostly ride with a T-shirt underneath as the liner inside the winter jacket is pretty damn warm for the initial autumn phase.

Then I'll wear a long sleeve t-shirt type thing over that the rest of winter which does the job.

Need to get some proper waterproof boots this year. And a hugger for my RS because as much as the heads keep my feet dry from the front the rear tyre splashes me from behind.

Haven't changed much. I lost the inner for my jacket when we moved house, so I just substituted with a body warmer. My easy-overs and riding boots don't allow much through. I prefer riding with an open face helmet so I just use two buffs for now (balaclava will be used when it gets colder - and maybe even close the chin piece on the helmet). Gloves may prove to be an issue - I have leather gloves, but I am sure that when it gets colder, I will have to change those.

I was naughty last night and rode for about 1km with just helmet, jeans, myBB hoodie.

holy fokkerooni, it was cold. The jacket, easy overs, leather gloves and boots make a huge difference

In terms of normal clothes I'll wear whatever I would inside my home or at the office, then in order of how cold its getting:
  • Close main jacket vents
  • Wear winter gloves
  • Turn on heated grips to 1
  • I always wear a balaclava but if it gets cold I pull it up over my chin
  • Close shoulder jacket vents
  • Turn on heated grips to 2
