Oh no I have.

But it's not a universally true statement for everyone.

If I had trained more and take my riding more seriously I wouldn't have.

I'm also not afraid to say that most accidents involving bikes were self-inflicted. Or let me restate that, many potential accidents become real accidents because of the motorcyclist.

And I include myself in that. Each and every one of my accidents was completely avoidable through different actions of my own.

I dunno, hey. I'm with Fanie on this one: no matter how much training or experience you have, unharmoniously dismounting your bike is inevitable.

Inevitable, no.

Probable? Sure...mostly because we all toe the wrong side of the line when it comes to risk.

I know a few toppies that have ridden 40+ years without incident.

But don't worry I also had this few that you will fall. Problem with that it leads you down the path of accepting risk and taking chances because you tell yourself it will happen anyway.

Since having a change of mind and genuinely accepting responsibility for my own riding instead of blaming cars and everyone else for the "inevitable" I've done 50 000km across three different bikes (not counting many demo's and other people's bikes) without incident.

Compared to the previous 50 000 odd that saw me in three different accident and a couple of stupid moves falling over etc if you want to count those as accidents.

I'm sure you can get anything...but maybe you should clarify the exact question.

Remember that a Harley most than likely is using IMPERIAL sizes and not Metric so you need to buy appropriately. It's normally an allen key bolt though so getting an Imperial set of those is quite simple.

i am looking for a socket to undo nuts on my harley.and can not get it in sa.The size is 1/4 in. but it also is a fine spline socket. no tmdm , usa. itis for remooving the brake pad pins of the Harley.

Thats the actual question.

You have a picture of the brake caliper?

Or a diagram because I'm a bit confused about how a socket would apply.

You aren't taking the hoses or the caliper off so shouldn't need a socket.

these are the pictures sent to me. I am in the US and my uncle is back there in SA. I assume he looking for one like that but better?
 
That's bizarre. Should find that in any imperial socket set at Builders or Brights.

But it is a very odd bolt indeed.

I almost want to say someone swopped those bolts OR a converter got stuck on there as it should really be a female socket on the caliper.

But then I've never worked on a "real" Harley.
