Okay so if our power is out again when I get home & I call the 087 number will I get assistance at after 6.30pm? - the 011 number is the number I called when I first joined up - I had an issue like this before when the power went out & the user name reverted back to the old one I am wondering if this could have happened again (although we have had power outages after this which didn't cause any problems)

Yes, you can call the 087 number any time during support hours. This seems like it could be a port issue - can you PM me your username?

Did you check that the user name and password were not corrupted in the router?

Where's live chat gone?

Hasn't gone anywhere.

I did see your mail to us though. We're busy finalising the network deployment before doing fibre so by month's end we should be back up and running on the fibre project. It's tough as I'm managing both at the moment and the new network deployment takes preference at the moment.

Run the new account last night, played some D3, no lag, did sone NNTP (astraweb), downloaded at full speed. So far so good. Real test will come when all users are on.

Just reading through the comments on the latest OW article and found this gem:

" dropdead BMTH • 16 hours ago

Openweb in my opinion is currently the best ISP in South Africa
I’ve already assisted family members and a couple of friends to move from their existing ISP’s to Openweb and they haven’t looked back. (mainly refereing to broadband) You should all signup, you won’t regret it.Also use my reference as referral and tell them I sent you! Reference OW35774"

OW now gives you a R15 discount if you refer someone to them, if you sign enough people up using your ref code then eventually your account can be free.

Now, why has no other ISP thought of this idea before... :p

Fair enough. Move me over to the new network, and we'll call it even. :D

So far I'm underwhelmed by the new network, just tried a Skype with a client in CT, had to switch over to a land line it was that bad. Probably an issue on my side but not much time at the moment to sit online with support, will have to look into it later.

That's definitely on your end on the DSL line issues you've had. I'm quite certain of it. We use Skype every day in the business and the network is operating sublimely right now. In fact I am in a Skype call right now.

Run the usual tests and email them through to us and we'll have a look for you.

Could also be on his client's end.
