Is anyone else having this problem with the shaper at Crystalweb’s side ?

Had some problems with slow connections late last week. It was getting so bad that I literally had no connection. Spoke to the guys at crystalweb on Friday and after been given an alternative login that was severely shaped to the point of uselessness I decided to upgrade to the 10mb package to try and solve the slow connection problem.

This worked perfectly for the weekend, but by Monday afternoon I was back to no connection.
Apparently the “shaper” was acting up again and introduced a problem to the network.
I was again given alternative login details to use while this shaper problem was sorted out.

The problem is that this temp account is so severely shaped even from 12pm to 6 am that is almost impossible to use the internet in any way.

Then I was told this afternoon that the shaper should be sorted out by the end of the month, by wich time I will be able to revert back to my regular account.

So is anyone else affected by this problem ?

The odd slowdown for 5 or 10 minutes, but nothing as severe as you describe.

Just signed up now with CW and can't wait to give the service ago.
one question though, where do I find the details for the NNTP server?

I contacted live support as i didn't receive an email with the details. Live support is definitely very helpful but I'm just waiting for them to sort out an issue with my login details to the server

Worth the wait. The news server is great, I use mine as a backup account, but the completion is really the best I have experienced. The provider has a very unique setup.
 
I've only been with CW for 3 days so more thorough testing is required but i must say that (bar the news server access issue im having) streaming, torrents and just the overall internet experience is excellent!
 
Logins to the news server have been resolved. Will send a mail tonight. Please use the following for access:

If your username is [email protected] your username usenet username will be [email protected] and your password will be your ADSL password.
