What's the average wait time for a new account? Sent an application through at 2pm. The mail quoted a 30min turnaround time?

it should take about 30 minutes - especially for an immediate activation but if there is missing info or whatnot then it gets held up.
Busy looking over the log to see what is up
 
Are there still issues with Hulu?
I haven't been able to stream HD, even High sometimes buffers.

Telkom are busy fiddling with your line right now because of the upgrade. You should see a change in sync already to 15Mbps. 20Mbps they're now "forcing" they said. Very descriptive. :D

Yes that's true but with the right news server that problem hardly ever pops up, plus when configured with sickbeard then you would have no problems with regards to TV series....But I hardly ever have issue with missing articles and blocks....

Recently I have noticed a lot of new series with missing blocks, or having been taken down from many popular news providers and block accounts I use for backup. Usually within a few hours.

Have found it impossible to catch up on missed episodes of Gotham and The Knick that I can't get on DSTV catch-up.

Seems like certain series are being targeted by networks.
 
Yeh but in all honesty I could get high and often HD on my 4Mb.
20Mb and you're telling me the performance has degraded?

No, I mean the line is not syncing properly just yet, so let's wait for Telkom to get the line synced up on the correct profile.

If they are issued a DMCA takedown notice, they have to comply. Unfortunately, this is where you have to turn to torrents to get those episodes that get nailed so quickly.
 
Just a FYI, those with Popcorn Time, you can set the program not to delete the Cache, now this pared with a dropbox account between buddies. :)

I don't watch those series, so I won't know if that's the case but yesterday I did manage to download the 2 episodes of Flash and Homeland episode 4 without a hitch...maybe it's my news server, I don't know or the site where I download from....I do know that once it's DMCA'd it's game over for that episode on that site, other sites may take longer to respond to the DMCA notice.....

EDIT - I would also look into sickbeard and configuring it so that as soon as a new episode is available, it downloads it straight away without having to manually check for it, this way you can pass the DMCA take down system....

Hi - bit confused here with the 100 gigs a month story - what happens after you hit that? will you still be able to stream at full line speed?

Yes. Only big downloads are shaped, once the 100GB of unshaped bandwidth have been depleted. Nothing else changes. It is really a nice setup.
Your streaming, gaming, browsing, etc will not be affected.

Hi Guys

Is anyone else having this problem with the shaper at Crystalweb’s side ?

Had some problems with slow connections late last week. It was getting so bad that I literally had no connection. Spoke to the guys at crystalweb on Friday and after been given an alternative login that was severely shaped to the point of uselessness I decided to upgrade to the 10mb package to try and solve the slow connection problem.

This worked perfectly for the weekend, but by Monday afternoon I was back to no connection.
Apparently the “shaper” was acting up again and introduced a problem to the network.
I was again given alternative login details to use while this shaper problem was sorted out.

The problem is that this temp account is so severely shaped even from 12pm to 6 am that is almost impossible to use the internet in any way.

Then I was told this afternoon that the shaper should be sorted out by the end of the month, by wich time I will be able to revert back to my regular account.

So is anyone else affected by this problem ?
 
Is CW planning on having only one capped account or doing the whole hybrid after capped as well?

I would think anyone that is on CW uncapped would be crazy to move over though...

No there's an issue here that needs to be looked at from my side properly now if this is constantly happening. Can you PM me your details and I'll get some info for you.
