Got back home last night between 10pm and 11pm after a 17hr shift. Maybe I over reacted a bit, but was very disappointed to see the nntp download speed dropped as low as 50KB\s, followed with the see-saw as top quoted.

Sure thing. As pointed out there was no shaping applied whatsoever, and other customers reported it working well at the same time at full line speed. We tested the throughput and it too was great on a test line.
So through troubleshooting by elimination it leaves a likely culprit, and one that makes sense at the exchange.
Best bet is to contact us when it happens - we don't log customer connection data as it is illegal, so there's no record to look back at to check in the morning. What would be needed are some test results taken at the time, as per the support portal pages, and we can look over the data and make a determination for you.

3) No pro-rata yet - only the 50% discount applies.

I got new account details on the weekend (crystalwebxxx@smartbusiness, 4mbps uncapped fusion) and while NNTP is full speed between 00:00 and 07:00, it is below 50KB/s during other times - is this normal? I've done about 160GB of NNTP month to date.

also i only signed up on the 19th and first torrent downloaded was decent almost line speed and streaming was seamless so impressed but this morning i lined up my torrents and it was under 100kbps on a 4mb line - not too stressed about it though because i had another lappy on my work network which could have been downloading updates in the background, will keep monitoring but for now i'm very happy with the move.
