I have never dealt with Cybersmart accounts before and haven't followed any of their threads afik.
So I wasn't sure to what you were referring , other than that it sounded dodgy.

Henk, there seems to be a lot of confusion here about what you believe to have transpired. You requested a line migration, and we initiated it. It remains pending on the system and with Telkom Wholesale. You have since indicated that you have not initiated the transfer back from Afrihost to Telkom. On this basis the Telkom line migration will be rejected by Telkom Wholesale, and there will be no billing to us by Telkom, and none to you from us.. If for whatever reason the migration is successful, Telkom/Afrihost will not bill you - we will. And that payment will be due.

I cannot for the life of me understand how any of this translates to litigation on your part. You've threatened us from the outset with all sorts of things, and personally I have bent over backwards to accommodate you, to the extent of spending my entire Saturday morning trying to identify why the support portal wasn't working for you, and it appears to be a Javascript error, which resulted in you cancelling with us.

If you want to continue threatening us with your advocate by all means. But you should be aware that you signed terms and conditions - we have very fair dispute resolution processes which you are welcome to take up. For what I have absolutely no idea though.

Furthermore, the moment you threaten legal action is the moment you should adopt that course rather than posting in public, as your advocate will likewise advise. These sorts of conversations are best directed to [email protected] on that basis.

Look at when he joined and all those posts, about everyone directed at CW. Why? This MyBB account was merely created to trash the CW name in my opinion. A troll. And yes I will say it, my niceness is only so much with people like this.

I agree. Whoever is behind that username is a piece of trash. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a rep from another ISP trying to bash CW.

Have you seen how the rest of us handled issues here? We either PM'd CW or made a polite comment on the previous thread that we were experiencing some issues with x service. Minutes later CW will respond and help us, EACH and EVERY ONE of us. Since I saw your Henk name and followed your posts I only saw complaints here and on other forums. This indicates to me a troll account.

Once again you are reading things completely incorrectly. Refer to my previous post please. Nothing was done in bad faith on our part - there's no option on the sign up page for future migration, and either way you are never out of pocket. Moreover, the likelihood of a migration going through if it''s with Afrihost is zero. Please read the mails that were sent to you carefully, and if you still do not understand anything in them, please direct your queries to the aforementioned email address.

Henk, it should be noted that I have been, and remain willing to sort out any issues you still have with us directly. But the moment you threaten us with legal action, the dynamic in which we interact changes, and your lawyers need to speak to our lawyers instead. All of this because of what appears to be a complete misunderstanding of a mail, which I have now further clarified for you as well, and am willing to put in writing officially for you too. But threats of a legal nature are just unwarranted here. I really do not understand them.

It should now also be pointed out that this thread is for feedback about our network, and your posts are off-topic. It would be best to communicate privately moving forward should you wish to.

One thing we should be careful about is to cultivate a CW culture of pack mentality when someone has a different experience or opinion. I'm quite sure most of us are mature enough to see that ganging up on such a person and going for public crucifixion is rather immature.

...or is the aim here to turn it into another OW-witch-hunt-on different opinions / experiences ?

In OW at a time it was Mr BEEP muliple personalities which attacked who ever talk against OW:). Here I think it is a subject for a disscusion between CW and Hankofcamelot . This is not a subject for a public forum . I agree that there is something strange here .

Nope, I would never say this on a Forum without looking at when the user joined, what type of content the user post and what the user's behavior is. If I for instant saw he even joined 2 months ago and only in October got his CW account then sure, I would handle it differently.

However I must also say this, he did want to migrate his ADSL line to CW, so I might be wrong about the troll account. :)

New customers who signed up in the last month and didn't receive news server login details can now use their crystalweb username and password to access the news server. :)
 
Epic Service from Crystal Web, even thinking of going over to 4mbps

So far best ISP I've ever been with :D
 
i dont remember who, but to the person who asked why people were requesting capped accounts, i rarely use more than 100GB, and now my households usage will be decreasing by a considerable amount from the next month. taking this into consideration, my current 10Mbs Uncapped Fusion setup won't be as effective as a 100GB 20Mbs Capped setup for a similar price. I'll be enjoying double the speed, and just because my speed increases doesn't mean my usage will

Is there any chance for you guys to add one or two line speeds in between the four and 10Mbps products?

I have a 6Mbit line. I'm in a position where I don't go through hundreds of gigabytes per month (averaging 100-130) but I need those extra two Mbps up from the 4Mbps for HD streams (me being a HD whore :D).

Hickory, Dickory, Dock... as the clock hit 12am nntp download speed strikes sub 100KB\s. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Spiking to 200KB\s and see-saw between 150 & 200KB\s.

Please let loose the juice?

At 12am two things happen - Telkom's network gets hit as shaping releases on all ISPs. Our network gets massive incoming connections per second, and the nntp server gets a little hit as well. It settles down thereafter and all is well again. Could be a combination, or one of the above.

No shaping on NNTP right now on our side. Here you can see tests over nntp protocol on our test ADSL line running a standard uncapped account - it's testing the protocol throughput only, so this test only serves to check whether it's the account/ISP. So either the Telkom network on your exchange takes a big hit at this time of night when the shaping is relaxed across all ISPs, or the NNTP server is taking a hit, but I doubt it's the latter.

If you want you can PM me and we can test to see why this happens? :)

Got back home last night between 10pm and 11pm after a 17hr shift. Maybe I over reacted a bit, but was very disappointed to see the nntp download speed dropped as low as 50KB\s, followed with the see-saw as top quoted.

CW, I'll contact you tomorrow morning as soon as I'm back from night shift. Then we can take it from there.
 
The news server crystal web uses is definitely broken at times. Seems my giganews server maxes my line at 8 connections but the cw server can't pull 400kB/s consistently. If you guys are indeed using nextgennews I hope to see this sorted out in the near future. For now though I have enough dr who for the next few years
