Can you see the new tabs?
My password isn't hidden either, nor can I see the new options.

I only have a rev counter, earth ball thingy, (with a lot of port errors (which I can confirm because I have to power cycle
Is this the time to make a power cycle your router joke?
the router every time the net is not working) and a credit card thingy with invoices.

HTTP download speed is around 10-20kb/s, massive packet loss as well :(

I undestand there have been some issues this week, but it's the same this side on the CW Business account - terrible speeds the last few days, nothing more than 10-30kb on http downloads; I understand nntp is limited anyway so not an issue for me.

I have an http archived download of some of our office publications (3x 400MB RAR's in total held in a cloud by our international office) - it's been running for 90 minutes-odd and the first RAR is averaging 10-15kb - only managed to do 75mb in the last 90mins or so, with another 9 hours to go - this is crazy! I still have this one to complete and 2 more to go... needed them by 6pm this evening...not going to happen at this rate.

I'm going to see if there is any improvement in speed during tomorrow and Saturday, then will unfortunately possibly have to look for other options, depending on the how the boss feels. Will contact helpdesk if there's no improvement by tomorrow. It will certainly be cheaper for us to scrap the business uncapped and go onto normal non-business uncapped and schedule these larger d/l's after hours.

Already gone through the normal modem reset, port reset, line check, etc - the line shows stable at 4MB, but cannot seem to get more than 30kb at peak.
BTW nothing else is downloading or running... just this download.

EDIT: just fired up a torrent and it's running at 60-70kb - how does that work? The HTTP download is still running at 7-15kb now... 8 hours to go...

I feel your pain. Stuck on 30-35KB\s spiking to 40KB\s down speed on my nntp. AfriHost Prepaid not going any faster too.

I wonder if I bang my head against the wall it will make the download speed any faster?

7hrs and 1.13GB to go......

Yeah same account here, browsing barely works. Torrents are running at 100-130kb, which I don't need right now.

I can barely open Crystal Web's site it's so damn slow, what is going on guys?

Wish I could say the same.

I must also add that I am on the same exchange as a couple of high up people in woodhill, maybe that is why lol. Or something like that, some Telkom guy told me that once, weather it is true IDK, but so far had very good luck with ADSL.

I been hammering my line for the last 24 hours! Various protocols from torrent to http to nntp to a 10 hour remote session via teamviewer. The results, collectively, have been satisfactory but if you look at performance in isolation it's pretty poor. 10mb Capped account.

If you run just torrents or just http or just nntp performance hovers at around 20%-30% of max line speed but combine them all at the same time and you get just over 70% of max line speed so clearly the account is managed in such a manner as to evenly spread the bandwidth out over various protocols for maximum performance from each with out compromising the other.

Correct. When there is strain on the network you have to manage it intelligently so no single protocol or even set of users can wreak havoc with the network, and it is applied in a spread manner to keep as many services operational, and it's even dynamically changing to ensure that certain services at certain times of day receive priority over others - it's not static, and it's not easy to manage either.

There are some upgrades going in now - more than that I can't say other than that performance will now begin to improve in each region gradually. Gauteng has been hardest hit and will receive priority in resolving, then moving to CPT and other parts of the network. There is no definitive date but things will be back to normal now very soon.

When I connect using my backup account everything runs properly so I doubt it is exchange related.

BTW, I stay just on the other side of Hans Strijdom.

And you felt stating this to me again would serve to do what exactly?!
If you have nothing constructive to add rather add nothing!

Oh but I was constructive when I pointed out to you (in time I might add) that if you wanted to cancel, you had a few hours left to do so.

You didn't act on it, then all of a sudden you are a pissed off angry customer, rawr rawr stomp scream?

Boohoo. Enjoy your account next month :)

seeing that it is now thursday after the promise by customer support that the netowrk will be fixed by sunday. What is the status of the upgrades?

Monday was said 48hours?

Ahh cool, you by chance clost to boardwalk manor? (Still praying there are ADSL lines)
