There remains one single issue on the network right now: HTTP downloads. 10Mbps and up customers are already seeing massive performance increases as well, for torrents and nntp which is previously where the major issues existed. But HTTP downloads is an area we are aware an issue persists.

Has constant packet loss been a problem as well?This has been a "problem" on Cybersmart's network for years now, I had both capped and uncapped with them as we also used to be a CS reseller at my previous job. No amount of talking to them at the time could even get them to acknowledge a problem, so good luck with that. I'm pretty sure its an inherent part of their shaping to limit single thread HTTP downloads. The thing is that nobody really notices as most people use DL managers for their large downloads anyway and everything/everyone else doesn't really notice when HTTP is only at 10% of line speed per thread.

I wonder how long it will take CrystalWeb to realize Cybersmart sucks and move over to a different network all together. Probably never.
you forget who the founders are, they're anything but stupid

I fully appreciate the lengths that CrystalWeb are going. But now its a further delay until their new symmetry network is operational. How many more delays until I can get what I paid for?
@CW
How much will the Telkom Network freez play a role, if any?
I think you'll be surprised at how quickly this goes up and is ready. The choice is: wait for an ETA, or do it ourselves. We're doing it ourselves.
Thank you.Not all that much, but this time of year certainly adds its own constraints. We planned properly though. Ordinarily it would take a good 6 months to build a properly deployed network. We're already in the final stretches of this as we speak.

Cybersmarts backbone is terrible , why would they want to move there ? even mtn network is better than that
