Gaming latency has increased a bit and not as stable as it should be right now - been reported to resolve. NNTP speeds are already being investigated to see what is happening here. Two providers to address this with but will get it sorted.

Slow image browsing - not sure I've seen that crop up before but if you get hold of support they can try to see what's going on for you on that front.

Will do - I'd already raised the nntp speeds with them so I didn't want to be a support glutton :)

Nah, we don't mind numerous support requests at all. Within reason, naturally.

All we ask of customers is that they're courteous and explain their issues to support clearly so we can assist. No stipulations on number of times you can talk to us though.

Browsing is a bit inconsistent. Pages load fast, but images are slow as hell. Browsing reddit for example, threads are fast, YouTube videos stream instantly which is awesome, but any links to images or imgur take forever to load. I'm talking waiting 30 seconds for an 800k image to load up. Is this normal?

+1
24kbps download on a 2.2mb file from imgur, 387kbps from nvidia's site

Busy reporting the NNTP issue on my side as well at this moment. My PSN is still suffering heavily with the port reset done yesterday not having any effect.

Online support doesn't seem to know there's an existing issue or what PSN is (since I was just requested to provide screenshots of it downloading) :wtf:

There are different guys on support, so they occasionally do ask for information you may previously have clarified. Apologies about this, but it's one of those things on support that is almost impossible to resolve. The guys read through old tickets as they're talking to you (remember it is live support) so they catch up as they're going if it's a different agent to one you may previously have spoken to.

Used router's ip as DNS, switched to crystalweb DNS, all better now :)

This is one of the things we do recommend customers check, especially for gaming and slow speeds. ISPs create routing tables for optimal routing over the network, often directly peered, or just over a route with the best response, and then it is setup to route as such using various tools. Using an alternate DNS may break this optimal routing that's been setup, so it's always best to switch to ISP default DNS when checking for speed or performance related issues.

As per my discussion with support - After a test and indication that there was packet loss on my end, I am testing Path of Exile with an alternative ISP. It's perfect (consistently sub-200ms).

You guys are investigating the packet loss, as I gently chided support, this has been ongoing since late last year.

In any event, the takeaway is that the issue with the game is most assuredly not to do with infrastructure on my end. No biggie, just get it working as well as it usually does.

Thanks!

I meant "existing issue" as one common to more than just me, e.g. the NNTP one ;)

Nope, disregard, it's all of a sudden gone loopy.

In that event, please insert the collective CW foot into the gaping maw of the Telkom buttocks pls.

Noted, but high game latency still continues regardless of DNS, have been in contact with support already, hope you get it fixed soon...

Netflix rocking along at 240 resolution

Nah, something is amiss here then at the moment.

Can you talk to me on support? Netflix shouldn't ever buffer, let alone drop resolution like that. Testing it here from our test line (same routing as from your location btw) and there are no issues with it at the moment.

I'v been having very poor Netflix experience lately as well. Buffers a lot and quality drops. I'm not the only one it seems. I went and bought a new modem (to eliminate the possibility of the modem being faulty as advised by CW), still no luck.

My line seems fine, Telkom confirmed my line to be working fine. I'v never ever suffered from exchange congestion so I don't believe it can be exchange congestion.

Netflix is so well connected on the network that the likelihood of it being the symptom of anything on our end is incredibly slim. I suspect there may be something area specific going on here though looking at the location of the reports though.

Not sure where Sinbad is, but Looney is in JHB and I'm in the EC
