Internet extremely slow tonight. Websites takes a while to load. Unable to stream YouTube at 360p without it constantly buffering :(

I'm happy to read I'm not the only one. Websites are fast, streaming from youtube or anything else is non existent, I see the initial frame and nothing thereafter. As long as it's up during the rugby, I'm happy.
 
What is your download server set to? Mine is South Africa - Cape Town.
It was a Steam client update, the game updates go much quicker
I'll lie if I tell you. I honestly don't even know how to check that actually...don't think I've never needed to access Steam settings. Though I have only been on Steam for 8months.

Why is my NNTP not getting full line speed as promised?

Fluctuating from 200 odd to 500 odd - nowhere near to what it should be.

Current server IS from Cape Town - south 10 Meg line and speedtest is full line speed - 8.72M

Thanks for the feedback, guys. There are a few changes that I think we need to make to some of the profiles that will sort this out. Oddly enough, most customers are incredibly good at scheduling their downloads and our encouragement of this has lead to massive spikes at around midnight which the controllers are not entirely able to handle at first with the massive spike in usage across all regions. It's not something we foresaw as most people simply ignored our requests for this before, but it is something that is our fault, and that we can fix as well. Will require some dev work to sort out, so it's gone on to the top of the priority list to try to sort out for you guys.

I'm in the south and everything is running A-OK.

My dl queue just kicked off at full line speed as well.

It's not affecting everyone equally. So we need to make some changes on our side to rectify. I will work with our guys over the weekend to sort out for those affected.

See above. Looks like an issue on our side which we're going to now sort out. I have the data now to see what the issue is and it's certainly on our side, not yours, so don't worry about reporting any line faults and so on unless our support staff actually pick something up which can resolve this (always report to support first and foremost). I've spotted the problem tonight after monitoring a few connections and we'll test a few changes over the coming days.

CW does not have a star rating, you will only see "shaping" due to demand at that time, you will not be shaped personally on your usage.

Support told me something about a 10-day rolling window and a star rating... :erm:

On our basic entry level uncapped accounts there is a star rating. I'm going to simplify these as well moving forward...

Not good news at all, as long as the premium accounts don't have this.

It's there for basic entry level uncapped accounts. Doesn't affect any of the other accounts at all. It's an entirely new and different product.
 
Crystalweb still hasn't replied on my support ticket I wrote about here yesterday.

I have since determined that it must be a line problem causing Intermittent connection. Reported the line to Telkom and a lady just phoned me. She said the problem is with my dlink router (which was working for moths) and I need to replace it with a different brand at my own cost. She said she'll get back to me and then closed the ticket. Pathetic Telkom support

Obviously there could be a problem with your router, but they(Telkom) have blamed my router at least five times and told me to replace it, which I did.
The problem is that it wasn't the router, but line and exchange issues.
Rather try to borrow another router or test yours on somebody else's line.
