Noticed that Windows Updates are crawling tonight, but other downloads seem to be running at normal speeds.
 
In actual fact fck it, im signing up now. If I have to go through another day of tests and 30KB/s iOS downloads on a 10Mbps line with AH I'm going to need a straight jacket and not another ISP.
 
@CW or anyone that can help plz.

Just want to ask your stance on DSTV CatchUp Plus. I have an Explora but haven't connected it to my ADSL yet.
Reason I haven't done so is I am unsure if I can control if and when it pulls down the catchup plus content.
I imagine a situation where I'm busy online and everything is k@k slow, I start troubleshooting my connection only to find it was the Explora pulling episodes.

So basically, I just wanna know if you guys see any trends wrt to Explora pulling catchup plus data ie. does it happen at anytime of the day or does the catchup plus content only download at certain times?

If this has been addressed before I apologize for missing it.
It only downloads what you choose to download on Catchup Plus. Like, it loads all the titles into CU+ by itself, but it doesn't actually download the content until you tell it to, per title.

First problem with Crystal Web has arisen.

Look at this pic. Sorry it's a cam pic of a TV - no print screen on media keyboard and I don't the shortcut for it...yet.

Anyway.

On the right you will see YouTube performance capped at 200kB odd. On the left you will see Afrihost capped playing the same video. I ran this test multiple times on multiple videos and services. Everything is being capped. I am on home capped btw.

What gives?

I ran WinMTRs - showed no problems. I've been on chat with support about this same issue yesterday as well.

I don't care about downloads being shaped on capped at all...but if you are messing with streaming then I want to know please.

What tool is it you are running, I am experiencing the same thing right now but am having trouble proving it to support as all the tests come back ok but I noticed a difference switching between accounts.

I'm using bitmeter OS.

Runs in the browser. I'm sure there are other programmes that can do something similar. Like Netmeter perhaps.

I had the same problem yesterday. Windows update was crawling...took almost 2 hours to download a 97mb patch...yep. I am on a capped account. All other downloads etc. are fast. Only windows updates having problems and it has happened quite a few time before. Is it the windows update servers?
 
Uncapped basic is useless. Now I am told I cannot upgrade back to the premium package where i came from. (Month notice needed..)
I use to be with CW since the R279pm uncapped accounts.
After numerous opened calls, basic troubleshooting that I have already done and empty promises - I am getting tired of this as I am paying for a service I am not receiving.

as far as I can tell (just arrived at the office for the first time in months - life on the beach has its benefits) the billing department are busy working out what they can do.
 
Just an update to my query from last week - my torrents were horrible all weekend, even after following your instructions. I'm not even bothering with opening them for now.

Pretty disappointing.
 
Interesting.

Switched of modem for 30min...and my YouTube problem has vanished.

Ah well. Back to being awesome again.
 
If I want to cancel my Crystalweb account, do I need a months notice?
