IPC in CT installed. Customers directly on our pipe are reporting that they have experienced the improvement.

There seems to be a problem with the home capped accounts which is currently being investigated

If you are having a problem in the Cape on a product other than Home Capped please shout

@Paul Hjul - what is the issue with the Home Capped accounts? I am/was going to sign up for one, but people seem to be complaining about it. I also see many unhappy Capped people over at the Webafrica forum. Is Crystal Web and Webafrica running the same capped IS packages?

Apparently yes.

However when I signed up 3 months ago streaming video was better all round on CW than WA.

Now they're both the dogs salty balls.

If this isn't fixed I'm out, reluctantly, because I respect the CW team and know they are putting in effort.

Yeah well moving to them is already costing me R140pm more, so if they're going to be giving me more hassles, then I'll rather wait until everything sorted.

they are supposed to be the same product - a couple of changes are intended (imminently ... ) but for now yes they should deliver identical performance on an identical customer.

There is however a discussion that is needed in the market as to capped account - especially lower priced capped accounts - and the use of caps as a tool in the tool bag of product development.

I'll keep an eye on this thread, hopefully by the end of the month things will look different.

I'm watching the Square Enix stream right now and can't do better than 360p on a 4Mib line. The Nintendo Digital Event stream wasn't good either. I'm not sure why this is happening, but I certainly hope someone has some idea of how to fix it because I was promised that the IPC upgrade would improve things.

I must admit the performance is dismal at the moment, can barely stream YouTube. Not sure what's going on, CW used to be good. My other accounts are working just perfectly, I can only imagine that somethings wack with the uncapped premium profile?

Could you PM me your Email Address/Username so I can look into this for you - Premium Uncapped should be stellar at the moment no matter which region you are in.

Capped account in the past meant you would be able to dl what you liked until you got CAPPED. The ROT set in when ISP's brought out UNCAPPED. Then SOFT cap.

Now CAPPED seems to mean - be lucky you can dl in graveyard shift. The rest of the time you can watch Youtube in wonderful 360

If you're looking for Paul, you need to go msg him in TK, where he spends his time bad-mouthing MyBroadband and all it's idiotic and moronic members (including his customers here), instead of attending to the mess in his own back garden.

Is this after the IPC upgrade? What do you mean by backed up demand, I'm sure people aren't waiting for a day to buffer a stream or play an online game? Yes it could be downloads, but if it hasn't cleared by now, then the IPC upgrade was evidently not enough?

Does anyone have their line with Crystal Web? What are the Bundle pricing like?

I have my line with CW. I'm currently running 10MB Home Capped and bundled price is around R670. I have seen improvements from Monday on the network after the IPC upgrade was completed. Its still not 100%, still buffering on Twitch on "medium" every now and then. With the 10MB line i surely should be able to stream on high easily. As for torrent downloads, thats shaped badly, have no issues with NTTP I max out the line. Also no issues with gaming.

Thanks buddy! This is the kind of info I was looking for! I'm not a heavy Torrent downloader, so i'll just schedule it to use my "free gigs" after midnight. Gaming and Streaming is the most important to me.
