I get the same silly grey'ish Chat bubble icon for everything, Whatsapp, eMail, SMS, same looking icon

My email and WhatsApp has got their own icons....except for Telegram.

Will rather wait for the international OTA update....but glad they are actively fixing bugs. Thank you

Another little niggle I have noticed. The SMS blocker is not functioning properly. I get SMS's from Vodacom from many of our stores everytime a SMS is being processed for security reasons. I block this number so that these SMS's gets filtered and my phone does not go banannas the whole day. But on the MEIZU it does not seem to function correctly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

Really like the phone. Well worth the money, just want the clock to be fixed.

What be wrong-o with your clock? Did you tried a factory reset?

FWIW when I got my Mediapad, I could not adjust screen brightness. Did a few tests, and all was OK. Did a factory reset, and it worked properly thereafter.

I'm also happy with battery performance on my Mediapad - it lasts up to three days with light to normal use. Heavy use (really heavy use, like in continuously) it'll last a day. But still better than what I've had before.

One thing that I think could be a bit better is the volume on earpiece. Even at its loudest setting it is still a bit soft. Definitely usable, but could have been a bit louder I would say.

how soft is the volume on this. Is it really soft that you battle to hear people on the other side or is it still ok to hear them?

Also I am needing a dual sim phone but I see with this phone that you would not be able to put in a memory card if you use both sim slots, how big is the internal memory on the phone will you be able to manage without a memory card in the phone?

It is 16gig I think and out of the box you are left with about 10gig available I think. For me that is more than enough.

It's got something to do with charging. Alarm works fine during the day I tested it out. If you leave it on charge overnight then the alarm app freezes (tried various apps) both mornings I woke up and tried to open the clock but it was stuck on a time about 30 minutes earlier. I've flashed the Chinese rom which in my opinion is not much different from the international version. All I did was uninstall a couple Asian apps and install google apps from scratch.

I did try a factory reset which didn't help with the alarm so hopefully the flash update helps.

Another issue I had in the old rom was that I could only login to one google account and I need two because I have one specifically for my google music.

It is 16gig I think and out of the box you are left with about 10gig available I think. For me that is more than enough.

Volume is not super loud but its definitely not soft! There is a thread on xda on how u can improve it slightly. See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62112601&postcount=42

Ok well, I have not had this alarm issue yet at all....and my phone is on the charger over night every night since I got the phone. Maybe I am just lucky

I actually bought an alarm clock app (one designed by doubleTwist) as it has great snooze functionality and you swipe the clock to stop it so its pretty fool proof in case you want to something commercial.. I've never had any problems with it through the couple of years I've used it on my phone and the design is great. Feels a bit silly to pay money for an alarm clock app, but I guess its actually the app I use most frequently!

Since I flashed the latest version I can confirm that my alarm is now working! Running like a proper phone.

So far I have 1sim in but I plan on converting my Telkom sim tomorrow, just need to go in store. I have installed all my standard application and downloaded a boat load of music from my google music, restored my 2gb WhatsApp foler and I now have 4gb of space. If I had the option I would buy a 32gb phone though.

Cool. Let us know if your battery life improves also as it mentiones that they have optimized standby battery consumption? Not that it really needs it but wont complain if they make it better either

Ya that is tough to judge because my first two days usage was unusual. Its still strong though, after today I'm on 45%, includes some gps time, light browsing, listening to music for at least 4 hours and then some general whatsapping.

On 3G or 4G? Mine does not last that long and my usage is a lot lighter than yours.

3G (I barely get LTE signal so forced it to 3G) and WiFi at work and home.
