The Motorola car dock and a 32GB class 10 microSD, and the best part? haha I used my ebucks so it didn't cost me anything.

There is an EU leak atm on XDA of the official RAZR ICS but I can wait for an OTA

Since the Lumia will be stuck with WP7.8 forever, I'm really thinking about getting the Razr. If it gets the damn ICS.

I'm waiting for ICS to sort out a serious bug in the RAZR with gingerbread. SMS's won't come through to my phone until I restart it, or they come through up to 24 hrs late. 3 people in our building have the same bug with this phone.

Cant say I have the SMS problem with mine on Gingerbread. The few SMS's that I do receive now and then comes through as they should. 98% of my stuff is WhatsApp though.

Motorola: ICS for the RAZR Delayed in Australia, Other Regions Too? (Updated)

Motorola announced today via Facebook that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the international RAZR in Australia has been delayed and will not rollout in Q2. They initially announced Q2 as a deadline back in February, but even with a number of leaked builds sneaking out, they apparently ran into issues that will prevent them from pushing it to end users on time.

The interesting note about this situation is the fact that one of the “MotoXprts” over at Motorola’s support forums has made it clear that Australia will not be the only region affected. So does that mean that the U.S. will see a delay as well? As you all know, Q2 ends next Saturday. We have seen soak test invites go out to U.S. DROID RAZR owners, so there is a chance that we still see it here.

I will say that we have heard two reports within the last few days that have to do with the RAZR update here in the States. We had another source claim that June 22 is still in play, but another is under the impression that it won’t happen just like what was announced for Australia. The good news is that we should know within the next week. Hopefully you can all hold out a bit longer.

I'm not trying to troll, but the update fiasco (with all android handsets, except the nexus), might push me to iOS next time. My 8.9 galaxy tab has been promised ICS for some time now, and still no joy.

Dude, if not getting a new OS for free soon enough is enough to make you buy a castrated device, then go for it, you frankly deserve Apple.

I personally love my Motorola hardware...but the fact that this phone has been out now since last November or December and still we dont have our ICS really getting me down now. Seriously...the ICS stock ROM handed to them...all they have to do is make a few tweaks here, do a driver there and ta da! Seriously...how difficult can it be? Sony Xperia S has got their ICS starting to roll out now. That just aint cool man! As Cartman would say.....WEAK!!!! :(

Don't give me that free bull. The manufacturers have an obligation to support a device for a certain period, and stick to their promises.*When MS/Apple commit to a release date, they commit. Let's have a look:

1. Motorola promises unlocked bootloaders for international versions of the phone last year - Never happened
2. At launch, it was said the phone will get ICS. Except, if you got your phone last year, you are now 25% into your contract, and still no update.
3. The iPhone 3Gs, a phone that is now 3 years old, will be getting iOS 6.

If Motorola fail to come to the party with a proper support plan for the lifecycle of the device, you en up with a castrated device anyway. This exact scenario happend to me as well with my HTC Hero (have been with android now since version 1.5). Let's face it, they way things are going now, we can kiss jellybean goodbye for the RAZR.

You're free to update it with any other ROM you want. Try doing that with an Apple. Yes you are getting a new OS for free. Motorola never said when they will release the update there were just some rumors started by others.

I'm not happy with the situation either, believe me, especially since the same thing happened with my old Xperia, but I'd never do anything as retarded as signing myself up for Apple's raping tactics just because of that. I'd just not get a Motorola again. Mostly because they don't give a **** about markets outside the US. The American version has had ICS for a while already...

But that is my point. I can't move to another ROM easily because of a locked bootloader. There are methods around to get around this, but you might brick your phone. I should not have to worry about this, especially on hardware that I own. The thing is, so far Moto and HTC have screwed me over, and Samsung is on thin ice.
 
There is no reason to complain so hard about waiting for updates.

Is your phone somehow gimped on version 2.3.x?

It's not, it works perfectly fine, the ICS update will be cool but it's novelty will ware off in a few days and we'll be waiting for 4.1 which is apparently also imminent.

It's only a matter of time until the wizards at XDA crack the bootloader completely.

Why Samsung? The Galaxy Nexus, S2, S3 and Note are all running ICS as far as I know.

Personally, as I've said before, I think smartphones should be like buying a laptop, it comes with an OS so it can be used as is, but you can take it home, format it and install whatever OS you want.

My samsung galaxy tab 8.9 :(
Installed CM9 on it, but it's very buggy. They are waiting for samsung to release ICS so that they can fix some drivers if I understand correctly.

Personally, as I've said before, I think smartphones should be like buying a laptop, it comes with an OS so it can be used as is, but you can take it home, format it and install whatever OS you want.
