Official Motorola RAZR thread (Android version)

Haven't actually - I have a general aversion to installing manufacturer software on my PC unless I really have to - buuut if it's a last resort...

Give it a bash. It is just a small little piece of software really. Not much functionality...there plainly to update your phones software.
 
Hmmm...the only Motorola Software Updater I can find is for non-Android phones? Perhaps have a link? - I just did a brief search but I'm supposed to actually working today :P
 
Hmmm, that's one the one I did find earlier, so got it already - strange that they don't list the Razr XT910 tho
 
Finally! Got my damn update! Noticed my phone did a weird hiccup reboot thing when it was lying on my desk, picked it up and by pure chance thought I'd check for updates - now got it finally at 65.1.40.en.06 version. Not sure I like the new lock screen yet tho

I rather like the new lock screen and the way you answer calls. I do think they had to do it though to stop Apple from peeing their panties. :p
 
Ooh, haven't had a call since it upgraded - will look forward to it!

Now for ICS! Then again, I've got ICS on my tablet and am already waiting for Jellybean - they shouldn't let us know the names of these things so far in advance!
 
Weird, I'm quite sure I got this almost 2 weeks ago?

I've already had 2 updates and I thought all this hype was about a 3rd bringing the OS to 2.3.7

My System version is 65.1.40.XT910.MERetail.en.06

Still on 2.3.6 though

Bah! they said we'd get ICS in Feb!

I cant remember that...but on the Moto progress report thing it states there that ICS will start rolling for the international RAZR Q2 2012....so it is around the corner I think. Hope they did not mean end of 2Q lol
 
Since the update came with new lock screen - haven't spent much time trying, but is it possible to disable the vibration effect on unlock? Haptic feedback is already disabled for input

You could always try WidgetLocker, an app that gives you all the customisation on your lockscreen that you could dream of.

Add widgets, backgrounds applications, different sliders like the new HTC Sense unlocker, even the iPhone unlock slider, very cool.
 
Mmm, don't really like bloating my phone with extra stuff, tried some launchers in the past, benefits didn't outweigh the irritations and extra junk
 
Sorry if this has been asked before, but where do you get the HD dock or lapdock for this bad boy in SA, for a reasonable price? To import the lapdock costs over R2000! Getting my RAZR soon and it would be great to convert it to a LPTP or DSKTP PC as well...
