OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

I have had an openweb account had one for the past two years. The past two months the service has been incredibly pathetic.
I am cancelling my account with them.
I posted on their Facebook page that I am struggling with my account for two weeks and now they have blocked from their Facebook page. I have tried in vane for two weeks to sort out my account with them but have been unable to.

I had a 4Mbps Gamersking account and for the past two months I've been unable to use the account during the day, during the weekends I struggle to get speeds above 2Mbps. Between 9pm and 5am the account was fine. My average month usage over the past two years is about 150Gb/Month.
 
Yeah. There were some guys on the forum at the time that I signed up saying that people should stop just hating and try their service because it's actually pretty good.

Another thing that makes it worse is that I'm on capped.
Seems like I was using bad torrent settings but I was still getting a stable 2MBs (megabytes) early this morning which is less than half of what it should be. Today it's been jumping between 1-3MBps
 
I joined up to the 10Mbps uncapped special, the past week have been a nightmare, extremely slow speeds, most websites I can't connect to, can't download drivers, Windows Updates, Mom can't play Facebook games, etc. Yet, during Heaven time, its like the web opens up. Are we being throttled during the day? Seriously thinking of cancelling this service.

TL;DR: Cancel you OpenWeb account, they suck....really badly.

Recently signed up with the uncapped home special. Came from a Telkom 2mbps uncapped and "upgraded" to a 4mbps uncapped package from OpenWeb and man am I disappointed now. I had a slower line so I'm used to slower speeds but flip this 4mbps line is even more disappointing than Telkom's service. Sites like YouTube don't even load properly if they even load at all. I get constant drops in line speeds, and I'm not talking about speedtests, just general activity that's how noticable it is. It's like everything freezes, give it 30s or so and then it shoots up again only to drop back down again.

Some services work flawlessly like my Battle.net application downloading Heroes of the storm at almost full speed. Yet when I pause my download my general browsing experience is almost nothing. Which why I believe it's OpenWeb and not my line.

Fix this please. I'm seriously considering moving at the end of this month.

Guess I should've first read the feedback before canceling my MWEB account and joining Openweb.. Having some regrets now on the feedback im reading, and to make it worse there isnt a representative to clarify things here either...

Cancel asap!

Move to any other ISP. Vox and Crystalweb are the best at the moment.

Noted.. Canceling it now. Idiots dont even wanna talk to me always saying they'll phone me back but never do.

Typical Openweb case... Have a look on Hellopeter at some of the other complaints (ignore the fake 1 positive review wonder reviews) and you'll see how similar the other complaints are to yours.

If your on Debit Order, and they continue to debit you after you cancelled, bounce the debit orders and if they come with legal rubbish, tell them you will log a case at SAPS for Fraud.

LOL just phoned their offices, they wont even let me go through to the accounts department to cancel my sub.. WTF. I have to di it through email.. WTF?!?!?
 
You better make sure you cancel before the 25th of the month and send it multiple times to their cancellations@Openweb email address otherwise you'll be with them for another 2 months.
 
Being using their services for the past 2 days.. And I have to say.. It isnt THAT bad... Not as bad as what you guys make it out to be anyways, as a 5 year long MWEB user I'd know... Sure the Youtube videos buffer every now and then. But my torrents are like flying most of the times! Might have to reinstate my canceled account.

Been there, seen it all, done it all. Just give them some time u'll see what everyone is talking about
