i'm averaging 10KB/s today on 2Mbps Silver..
(from international sites http/ftp - local is ok)
and 5 mins after posting that, all is well again!
Gold has full speeds during the day though, silver should too. Standard is below both of those... so...
I mean, you're not paying Gold prices like the rest of us so how can you expect it to be unshaped 24/7?
For the price you're paying I'd still say it's a good deal though, 10Mb from 6pm - 6am would give you a lot of linux distro's, imo
I'm not getting full speed on my Gold. In fact, i can't access intl sites - they take too long to load.
Speedtest works however, and is reporting i'm running at full speed? and MyBB loads...
Should I assume this is a Seacom issue then?
Well, I dunno about the rest of you (besides those that posted, obviously), but my weekend downloading didn't go down as expected.
Not that I had anything to download, but my kids were complaining yesterday that YouTube wasn't working. Every second http call failed, and those that did work were slow. My explanation was that Seacom was still down, but this morning it was flying. Would love to know what the problem was, and if this happens every unshaped weekend...

The after hours performance of the special edition 10mb uncapped gives me wood each and every time!! Think my cancellation might have been premature!! @MrBeeps what's the latest one can retract a cancellation notice?
Reckon the special edition for after hours and Afrihost capped account for office hours (R399 for 100gb) and we good to go.

I have a curious problem...
Each time I restart my router, Openweb refuses to let me log-on to my account. I am forced to e-mail Openweb support who reset port and issue a fresh password to me.
Openweb support are, as usual, very prompt and helpful but to have to do this each time I reset my router is very irritating.
I have been advised by Openweb support that this happens because "Telkom doesnt release the account". This doesn't seem right, however - none of my other ADSL accounts have this problem and, even after 30 minutes the login problem remains - one would assume that Telkom would release the account after 30 minutes.
Any idea what would be causing my problem?

i had the exact same thing happen to me.. i just exited WoW and relogged, everything went back to normal - it could be due to the random connection problems that blizzard say they are aware of and are investigating
Well in the last 10minutes my connect has been going crazy.
Have had full 4mbps since 5pm but now youtube struggles to load and when it does maybe streams data for 30 seconds then dies, have also had trouble getting onto mybb, all in the last few minutes.
A lot of HEC errors appeared when this happened.
Anything happening on the network MrBeep?
EDIT: Seems to only be affecting local sites: MyBB, YouTube, Facebook ect.
International is still full speed.

This happens to me. I switch to my AH account, then back to OW to get to it connect.

I also had this earlier with local sites, but only lasted for about 2-3 minutes, after that it rectified itself. Was very weird :wtf:
