DSLHeaven is WebAfrica. WebAfrica is

:p

I'm on an IS account, and my word is this thing flying. Full speed on torrents and DC++ through port 615 even right now during business hours (Granted it is only 8:15 AM)... How anyone can compare the gold accounts to anything else any other ISP provides is beyond me :p

Hi MrBeep,

Mail was sent, I also mailed the lady (From openweb) that promised me that my gaming latency will not be affected :).

Thanks for the assistance hope you can change me to a better backbone, the @openweb one I had was amazing!! But then I changed to 2mb :)

PS. To anyone out there, do not use @DSLHeaven for gaming, does not work!!! Latency are not stable at all!!

Hi All,

Is anybody else having a horrible day on IS, or is it just me?
I max out at 20KB/s down (standard HTTP)...it was very erratic over the weekend too.
2MB Gold Account.

Recently I upgraded my Account from 1meg to 2meg and found that my new setup is shaped excessivily during the hours of 08,00 to 17,00 hrs.

If I look at it this way a average download speed of 10KB/s (before upgrde average was 50KB/s) now even surfing WEB appears to be shaped.
Did some quick Maths to show how this adds up

9 hrs per day X 24 (week days) = 216 hours this equals to 9 days if one was to add up band-width used at a reduced speed it would be around 1 day
So present system is costing us 8 days a month of normal speeds.
Surely we should all be asking for reduced Monthly subscription charge.

Hi there.

First time poster here. Have been having some problems with my "1Mbps Standard Uncapped Special" account and was told by a friend that you guys could maybe help me out.

So as i said I purchased a Openweb "1Mbps Standard Uncapped Special" account about three months back and it has been working alright with the exception of the first of every month when it slows to an absolute crawl. This while annoying was nothing too concerning and i was content simply to ignore it.

However since the beginning of this month to present the speed has dropped ridiculously low. I'm now struggling to simply check my mail (you don't want to know how long it took me to post this). Used SpeedTest today and this was the result:

Is there any reason for this? Is there a way to rectify it? I have really enjoyed my past Openweb experiences and it would be a shame to be forced to switch providers...

Hi Graal,

There are no issues on SAIX at present. I have just done a test on your account and a well seeded torrent is burning my line it is coming in so fast.

Please switch off your router for no less than 20 minutes then back on and see if it changes anything. If it does, the QoS in your router might be interfering

Still completely unable to download via torrents on SAIX.

Hmm, it seems to be working now, but torrents are going below 20kbps on this account. Going full speed on my Mweb.

Any possibility it's just heavy shaping from Telkom?

Any faults on VB?

No serious problems with VB here, but it is in one of its intermittent phases where you often have to refresh an HTTP web page 2 or 3 times before it actually opens.

From experience I know this problem goes away again after a day or so, so for me it's just a mild frustration :)

VB has been like that for the past year or so. But it's OK.

Hey Friends,

All should be running really well today? Our test accounts are FLYING!

just reading the last few posts, since my original one, seems that i am not the only one experiencing the slowness on openweb account?

i have spent time and money on a new asus adsl modem wireless router, no help, telkom no help, speedtests etc....

Is it just me? or is my impression i am forming on this thread, that more and more people are having slow access, slow internet, slow torrents etc on these accounts?

i am always amazed that tech support always says the test accounts are blazing away etc...but if that is so, then why do the users come here to list there issues?

guess i just dont understand, and i am sure there are going to be a few replies now stating its your line, its telkom, its your Qos settings, its the cat....

thing is, i moved to openweb, and it DID BLAZE AWAY...now its like a patient on life support.

Hi hardtail,

Please drop an email to [email protected] so that we can investigate for you.

It should not be slow today, as things are still looking really well here.

Yep, the slow torrents definitely seem to be shaping. Picked up last night at about 11-12, and this morning come 12PM all my trackers time out again.

Thanks Openweb, will do.

However as I have said I struggle to simply open my email, never-mind send one (Been trying now for 10 mins)
Hopefully I will eventually be able to send one off.
In the mean-time is there any quick-patch solutions I should try till the main problem (whatever that is) is resolved?

Maybe Openweb must stop new sign-ups and spread extra bandwidth to all current customers.*

* Just for lols, testing humour.
