Anyone else having problems?

Average downloads at about 7 KB/sec

If you use news servers and not torrents get a gold VB account. My downloads average 380 kps 24/7. Pretty much unshaped interwebz. Don't know how they do it.
 
Does anybody else use WebAfrica backbone and use Steam?

I get constant disconnects on Steam when doing anything else internet related.
 
Anybody else having issues with international browsing on the VB backbone? I can't seem to get onto a lot of international sites.

Edit: Scratch that, international browsing seems to be dead. I'm logged into Steam, but aside from that, not getting onto any international sites at all.

Gold is a shaped package unless you have the gold unshaped account, there isn't a specific time when it will be "unshaped" but shaping will be less (or mostly unnoticeable) during off-peak times (round about after 10pm and before 7am and on weekends).

Restarted my router and it seems to be working fine now. Odd issue, but I can't complain if it's working again. :P

Edit: Scratch that again. It works fine for two minutes after restarting the router, then international dies again.

I can ping all the sites, but when I try to open them in the browser, nothing happens.

We did get a new Tp-Link TD-W8950ND router yesterday, but I don't think it has anything to do with that, because the Telkom account was running fine until I switched over to my OpenWeb account.

I don't know if I might have missed a setting though. I've got the VPI/VCI settings set to 8/35, is that correct for Openweb accounts?

Exactly the same thing here (VB).

Like e.g. these two links... and MANY others:

Can ping them, but not open them. Very weird.

But my NNTP is 110%, so I'll just sit it out like some time ago when SAT3/Seacom was down :)

Yup, VB 1mbps gold, going worse than 384 for about a week now, no video streaming and poor browsing, yet newshost goes full speed. Very strange. Tried the usual router restart thing, even left the line unplugged for an entire day, hoping maybe something will change...

Can't open those two sites either, nor can I open Facebook or TesNexus.com. Glad to hear it's not just me having issues, though.

You might want to email MrBeep though. He logged a fault for me, and it might be helpful if he could let them know that numerous people are having issues.
