Ordered Fibre. So it begins.

If you're lucky enough to live in areas like Sandton then Telkom seems to be very dedicated to serving you quickly. My friend and I both waited a week after order for Openserve to come install Fibre.

That is because they know if they are not quick enough, and people wait, VUMA and the like would come into the area.

Got a week 1 fibre installation update email from webafrica. Seems in short that they are waiting for openserve now...

I decided to bite the bullet and order fibre. I also decided to log the entire process so that maybe for a future mybb browser it might hold some value.

Ordered my 100mbps fibre on the webafrica webpage, running on telkom infrastructure. My place is covered and obviously they have to just come pull through the line into my place. Recieved order confirmation email from webafrica.

Now waiting patiently for whats next...

I think you chances are good!

Might be that Mooikloof Ridge has a different installation team.

Please update the thread if something happens tomorrow, I have a friend that lives in Moreleta Park. He ordered six weeks ago and haven't heard from them in a while.

Understandably he wasn't very happy when I told him yours is being installed two weeks after ordering.

Me: errrm i spoke to you on friday and you said they would come today?

Telkom: what? They were supposed to call you then to arrange the install by now.

Me: yes i set aside my plans for today and just thought the techie will call me this morning sometime...

Telkom: no they would have called you on friday already to arrange that. Ey man we are struggling with these guys

Me: ok then lets just make it tomorrow then.

Telkom: ok sir. Our technician will be in touch with you.

Still waiting on that call from the technician. Lets see if he calls tomorrow lol
