Rain Uncapped - Slow connectivity to all Google services

I am also still having issues on RAIN. Most of the time I'm lucky to get 8kpbs download, which makes my alternate Cell C service look lightning-fast.

I am in the same boat. If you contact support, you will get a response from the networks team after 3 or 4 days if you are lucky to say its resolved but nothing is resolved. When you say that they just ignore you.

The only solution they offer is create a new APN

earlier it was also dead slow but when it does connect, it seems pretty fast

I'm in Hillcrest/drummond-KZN and my RAIN sim will no longer roam on Vodacom, therefore no more connection.

Using Opensignal android app, you can see which towers your device is connected to.

Mine used to bounce between Vodacom towers if there was no Rain tower, now it only connects to Rain towers. Since Saturday 19 October...

It's probably a load shedding related issue, the tower I usually connect to just came back up yesterday. Every time load shedding happens the tower goes down, I connect to a tower much, much further away and the tower stays down for like a day or two.

Actually I am also in KZN and found the same problem, although mine is just very slow to use, not completely dead.
Mine also started after load shedding on Friday evening but I only noticed I am connecting to another tower on Saturday.
I havent moved my router so I found it strange, but figured the local tower had keeled over due to the power issues.
But it has not resolved itself to date.
This new tower is double the distance to the closest tower to me previously.
I logged it with Rain and it has been on the escalation path since Saturday with no response.
Although I was promised a 24 to 48 hour response time.

I still haven't received a response from Rain apart from the "have you reset your router" line of questioning.

Playstore downloads have been slow or straight up fail lately. Don't know whether this means the Google services issue is back?
