Dear Sir / Madam

I have been a pre paid customer of axxess since I got adsl some years back.

My account is [removed].

My complaint is your pricing with comparison to your competitors as well as functionality.

70 for a gig in today’s climate is too expensive. Even Telkom charge less.

Afrihost is 29 a gig with 14.50 for a topup.

Your prices are too excessive and when I use my current bandwidth I will be forced to move over to afrihost or another provider.

Also to buy your prepaid service I have get it from engen. Why cant I buy the prepaid voucher/topup online.

I am sending this email in the hope that something can be done about the situation.

I have several friends who use the same option and they are all not happy and are considering switching over to afrihost etc.

Any response will be appreciated.

Great service and I dont really want to leave them, but I mean, R70 for a prepaid gig as compare to 39 is a big diff.
From what I read afrihost is excellent as well.

Beat me to it, I have a 10gb account on the saix network with them and it feels like im getting raped every month. Don't know if I should wait any longer or jump ship!

Haha, much more docile than i wouldle expected. And alink to the prepaid page
Consider youself pawnd

They're effectively the same thing. Afrihost's IS bandwidth is via SAT-3. Locally there's no difference between the two either.

I just bought a monthly 2 gig account at Afrihost, instead of topping up with a gig Axxess prepaid.
I haven't noticed any difference between the two, I just use it for browsing when my telkom international is done.

Hopefully Axxess will lower their price soon, I prefer prepaid, to monthly.

just with that respone i would drop them quickly.

the arrogance.
and i reckon if they dont drop their prices soon they will lose a lot of customers

I don't think it's arrogance so much as a crap helpdesk consultant. But even if a helpdesk consultant answered like that to my query I would not be pleaseed. Unfortunately at the moment they provide the most cost effective usage for my 4mbps line

Thats not an appropriate response!! What a load of trash! Its note even structured in a professional manner, "sorry to see you go" ??? I feel its a bit too arrogant for someone who you're paying for a service! Anyway I have left them as soon as the Afrihost option came out and I have not had any problems at all with reliability, service, speed etc. I'm pretty pleased and saving R200 odd a month to boot!

I've had really good telephonic conversations with their techies when needed and can't mark against them for service from personal experience.

Al hough yesterday my line didn't increase before 8 like it normally does :(. Had to disco but I did it so fast that my EVE session didn't even drop and was away @ 4Mb.

Facepalmed myself this weekend. Had a problem with Axxess uncapped Sat morning and temporarily switched to WebAfrica prepaid to do banking. Forgot to switch back later on and started downloading  I have WA set to automatic renewal with SMS notification and my phone was off! 5 gigs later at R70 a pop I realised...:sick::(

Jump ship. If enough people follow, they will have to lower prices to remain in the game. That's the beauty of competition!

How has service levels been with the smaller ISPs? Every time I have called the Axxess help line, it has rung no more than 3 times before someone answers.

So not cool...

That reply was ridiculous. Although, its the same as any reply I've ever had from Axxess: short, succinct and generally unhelpful. Paul, you deserve a merit badge for making a personal response, I feel an automated "we will forward your suggestion to management." would have been more effective, albeit futile.

I asked Paul when their uncapped all-day 4 Mbit packages would be released. He said "soon". That was 2 months ago.
