Router Battery Backup

Ditto. Mine changed t completed this morning. then about an hour ago I got a tracking number. Doubt it will get from JHB to CPT today still lol.
Maybe I can pick it up from the depot if it gets to CPT tomorrow.
My order went to "Complete" earlier this morning, but then I received a mail from the courier saying failure to collect with reason "Not ready".

These people really need to get their **** together and to make matters worse they only offer "next day" delivery at like R160-R200. It's probably going to be like 5+ days by the time my order arrives - guessing they won't be so inclined as to offer a discount or refund on the shipping

For the peeps who didn't manage to snag one of the Ratel 860s from Sinetech - keep an eye on Communica, they should have their stock loaded soon.

Just got an email from them now, saying their stock is depleted and no ETA on when they will get in again. They going to refund me.

Talk about crap service, when their website clearly stated they have 33 in stock when I ordered mine.

Will never buy from them again.

Wait what? That's horrible. Geez am sorry man

This is exactly the problem with these solutions. They're great until you need more options or have more devices. Hence I went for the Sherlo option - more work, but more customisable.
Of course I prefer ease of use,but sometimes (as with my IP CCTV install at home) the price difference for creative solution,vs premade is 300%+ cheaper

Cheap 12volt IP cameras of choice,active->passive poe converter/splitter,cheap PoE switches from Scoop/DBG,Smart plug for remote restarting the switch

I was waiting for stock from Communica and Sinetech, who replied to me with the same message as you guys about how they'll return my money when I send banking details. But I didn't even get to placing an order. Really crap service from all of them, Communica now tells me they'll have stock the first week of August, they just keep on pushing this date out.
So I ordered it from some shop in Randburg that's also sold out now, but at R1550...

I don't get why sinetech didn't bring in the biggest container of this stuff they could fit on a ship

I don't know either. There is huge demand for these as far as I can see, but their customer service is just so terrible. Both of them.

I ordered 6 of those omnipower batteries from Sinetech before lockdown. The website said there were 40 in stock.
After paying I get a mail from them saying that they were out of stock. After querying the "in stock" status on the webpage , they said that was the stock that they had in the warehouse waiting for people to pick up.

(That's pathetic design if true in my opinion)

Anyway . They eventually delivered my order a couple of months later , at the same price I ordered (not the new inflated price) without any fuss about price changes like takealot do. And the products are good. So I'm overall ok with them

I was going to try one of these Ratel units, order got canceled. I'm happy it got canceled however.

Does anyone have suggestions for running a Calix 801Gv2? I seem to be struggling to get a power adapter that fits the Calix. I don't want to cut the existing one, I don't own the Calix, so its easier to not cut it. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement PSU for the Calix perhaps? Maybe connecting it to a 12V CCTV PSU directly is a bad idea? I see its rated for 12v 0.25A.

Any of the 12V backup PSU things should work fine. It is really light on power, so small is perfect. Problem is finding stock on most devices. This is perhaps overkill, but available

Edit: the data sheet for your device says it uses about 5W. Amp hour ratings on lithium based USB devices are at 3.7v, so you'll get roughly one hour per 1350mAh of ups capacity.

This one?

Seems like I have the same ONT - cannot get the thing removed from the wall to get to the sticker (overly cautious with the fibre patch cable being connected and all that). The installers placed the termination box to the left of it, not exactly making things easier.

Dude I am on a man hunt for that power adapter/DC 12V pin! Been trying random pins and having less than 0% luck. Currently using an AMIGO AMS66-1200500FV power adaptor. It has a DC plug that ends like this:

Not like this:

My guesstimate is that it is a 5.0/5.5mm outer and 2.5mm inner.
