Router Battery Backup

Mine died after about a year and a half. Completely dead, doesn't come on or anything.
I wonder of the later units started using inferior cell packs. As mentioned before, mine is 3 years old, and lasts more than 6 hours with two routers connected to it. The other one is connected to the ONT, Mikrotik Router. Deco S4 and security camera, and clears 4 hours, indicator then on 25%

Same here. Got it in 2020 and its lasting ages still. Never dips below the third capacity LED. Only have a Router and ONT on it but it just works. Set and forget.

Actually made a mistake with my purchase date. Have the box with receipt in - 22March 2022!
Chatted to Communica but they are not willing to help, 1 year guarantee only
Anybody interested in a dead 860P?

If you where closer to Bloemfontein ...

You guys can have my dead 860p, I took out the batteries and repurposed them though. The rest of the unit is intact. I'm in Durban.

Finally got around to my titan elecstor 100w and then my shrink wrap was not enough  another job for next week. For now it's done and working with double the original capacity.

Still have the original battery pack left if anyone is interested in adding more to their unit or use it for anything else.

Nice. I have the Elecstor for one of my routers and an Ellies Cube Mini for the other, and a Vizia 57Wh unit for the ONT. It's way over provisioned.
By the way who is the OEM of your batteries? The original Elecstor ones and the replacements?

I’m not sure if this was discussed - but I now I have solar and I was going to give my Netogy UPS100 to my MIL. Will it work for her?

I had a 12v Calix but she has a MiktoTik hAP AC2 and according to specs :

DC jack input Voltage12-30 V

And I see it comes with a 24v adapter ?

Will work just fine. Those mikrotiks have a wide input voltage range. Just give it 12v from the Netogy.

How long does it take to fully charge all those batteries?

Good question :) i did not test the charging amps because pack was full when i made it.

Going off at 18:00 then i will put my clamp meter on it and see what is the charging amps from there one can calculate how long it will take.

Wow you are sorted :). All depends who has stock and what brands but mostly Bot Shop or Electromansa

Are Bot Shop good? Never bought there but I get ads from time-to-time. Where do you ship to?

Edit: Did you fit all those extra batteries inside your unit?

Where did u get all the extras? Bus bars, shrink wrap, nuts etc? Also Bot Shop?
What did you do about the BMS? Are you still using the built-in one? How does it 'know about' the extra cells?

(Are you in Cape Town? Might be interested in that old battery pack.)

Yes in cpt/kraaifontein. Was going to built a battery pack for the garage motors so i had everything here which i originally got from electroman but then plans changed LOL.

These batteries have a flat top and bottom so they are spot welded with 32650/32700 nickel strips. Just ran some short silicone wire between the 2 packs to get them connected to each other don't see the need for bus bars since it low voltage/amps and not much space left.

Still using the built in bms. It does not really know about the extra batteries it still sees a 4s1p pack only thing that will change is your runtime. It's not like those smart bms you get in those fancy bluetooth/comms batteries.

We had LS yesterday from 16:00-18:00 so i unplugged it to let it run on a 38-42w load till it shuts down to see how long it will last and how long it will take to charge again.

At 20:43 the unit shuts down at 11.45v.
At 23:31 it was fully charged at 14.08v (still on that voltage i just checked). So i am happy with it since normal load is usually 13-31w added some more for the test. So the 1 ups will last long enough for all my devices. One can even go so far and mod it to add a solar input like some gizzu/ratel models have if really needed.
