Hi guys I'm using JellyBean with Philz Kernel can you guys kindly tell me which modem you guys are using for JB? Also are there specific modems that only work for JB and vice versa? KH3 doesn't work on JB for me.

The modem that comes with the leaked JB is perfect for SA. You don't have to change it. I got the same readings at home as with LPS

Is your battery life suffering? I'm lasting a day, but oh so barely (extended battery does it for me). Not sure if I'm using the phone more, or if it's the ROM itself.

I just pop in every now and then here and express how awesome the S2 is still even with much newer phones out. S2 still rocking my face.

I'm now sitting on the following stats:
42% left
13h8m43s on this charge, not bad at all.

Will punish the phone with the next charge to see how well it holds up under stress.

I could easily make 2 days on Siyah and XWLPD (Sammy ICS). Deepsleep was very good overnight, but it was in general use where Siyah excelled for me.

With LSJ, I can make only one day easily. Obviously the only modified kernel worth looking at currently is PhilZ's kernel. The firmware is really power-hungry with all the nice new features like smart stay, smart rotation, etc. These features monitors your retina in order to establish if it should rotate or keep the screen on while you read. I love these features and will therefor stick with it. So general use is heavy on the battery compared to Siyah. But it tops Siyah when it comes to deep sleep. Not by much, but it is certainly better. I don't think Dorimanx can top PhilZ's deep sleep, but it would be nice if we can get a report from Dorimanx users.

So in my opinion, it is ROM related, but I won't go back to ICS. This JB leak is doing exactly what I wanted from CM or RR. It fills the gaps in those ROMS. One specific feature I also love is the ability to sort the drawer to my liking. The last CM and RR I tried could not do that.

... even more so with JB!!!!!

For reference: I have 10h 2m on battery - down to 31%. Screen is 72% of that. No power saving enabled - auto brightness.

Yeah, same here. It's the first stock ROM I am actually considering staying on, to be honest. Does everything I need it to (IOW, Google Now).

Sweet thanks for the reply. I'll use that modem. Just another question.... I used CM10 (based on JB) and the keyboard was different it had this feature where if I typed: "Howareyou?" it would come out as "How are you?". I bought SwiftKey and I'm currently using that on JB I just wanted to know what keyboard is that on CM10 (RR has it too) and does SwiftKey offer anything better than that keyboard?

SwiftKey offers multiple and simultaneous languages and various themes. Also, it learns from the words you use to do better predictions.

On a different note, it's crazy how many roms there are available now which are based on the leak? :O I'd just like to see custom roms soon, not just modded (added features) roms. Or a siyah kernel :-)

Just an update, my phone battery stats:
5% left
22h45m38s

I'm going to let it run down completely and then recharge and stress test.

When your S2 is fully charged, switch it off, pull the battery and put it back after a few minutes. Switch on again.

I'm back on the last Samsung official Gingerbread 2.3.6 (Italy) ROM, and can get close to two days battery life with moderate/normal use.

Incredibly happy with this ROM, it's super fast, looks and feel fantastic.

You've tried 4.x, right? I can't imagine going back. Certain apps, like Ovano Extend, make a monetary difference in my life, and don't work on pre-4.0 Android. Just wondering...

Decided to give the Omega XXLSJ 4.1.2 ROM a try. It's flipping smooth

I LOVE THIS!! Like really love it. So smooth and flipping fast. No freezing or resetting. Considering that I never did any tweaks to this rom or kernel the battery is very impressive. Have 10% of battery left, been 1d 5h since last charge and an on screen time of 2h 38m (50% of battery chowing)

Im also running this, and its really opened my eyes to the world of custom ROM's. My battery life has gone from 12 hours, to at least 24 hours!!!!

Yesterday I plugged out my phone at about 8am and last night after 11pm my phone was still around 50%... mind boggling!!!!

Best part so far is probably the root which allowed me to install Call Master.. what a brilliant control app. Love it....

Does anyone have a link to Philz Kernel? Tried Google, but my search is not coming up with the correct results. I would really appreciate it.

haha....yes, I did. :)

Just like Gingerbread a lot, don't know why. It's superfast and the DroidSans font is my favorite font of all time.

To each his own. :) It's a pity you can't dual-boot 2.3.x and 4.x. That would be awesome.
