MTN's driving me up the wall...

Was going to convert to a corporate contract, but those cannot upgrade to the SGS2 until some unknown date in August and at some unknown pricing.

Shops however are selling the handsets like crazy. But the ones I've been to refuse to do a pay-in deal on the handset - I'm told I HAVE to take an amortised "deal" with with some measly amount of data thrown in just to be able to pad the price a bit further.

Does anyone maybe know of an MTN shop in the Cape Town area that will do a pay-in deal on an upgrade? (I'd like to give my money to someone who will actually give me what I want, not what they want...)

at least you can get the phone from MTN. I went in this morning and they weren't even sure if MTN is getting the phone.

I've also had that - just keep trying other shops - some franchises obviously don't need an income...

nah i stay next to vodaworld so samsung will put one aside for me just that they haven't received their shipment yet , well i buy from the samsung shop as they are a bit cheaper.

Is anyone else having issues with the route66 sync software? It doesnt want to install on my machine, even in XP compatibility mode. I might just download it again tomorrow if I can't get it working.

2Days from the UK to sa and then it take our highly efficient ppl at customs 3 days to clear the phone.

Which sync software (link?), and what does it do?

The site says that you can use it to keep your maps on your phone in sync. I finally got it installed. It just took forever to go past the one point. I will test it out tonight. I'm all for it because then I don't have to use my data bundle to update the maps.

Have been following this thread for a while and wanted to say thank you to everybody for their great comments. Picked up my s2 from MTN Tygervalley yesterday and it is AMAZING!!!

Now just trying to get a screen protector and cover for it (like everybody else).

FYI, Hellopeter works very well if you are not getting your way with your cellphone provider

One thing that irritates me is that when I have power saving mode enabled and it's screen timeout is set to 15 seconds, it will change my normal screen timeout to 15s as well when it goes into power saving. When the phone is not in power saving anymore, it will still have the 15s setting enabled and I have to change it back to 30s. SOOOOO IRRITATING!
