SARS eFiling 2022/2023

Just got the e-mail from SARS.... the wait eth begin eth

Impressive.. Efiled on Monday at 3pm..money is in my acc this morning.. That's like about 36 hours give or take

Has anyone who has submitted supporting docs received a confirmation that they've received them?
I know it says on the e-filing site that my docs have been successfully submitted but didn't get the usual e-mail and SMS from them....
I did receive confirmation correspondence the morning after I uploaded supporting docs

So odd. I went and checked mine manually this morning, no return was generated so I told it to do one, everything was there, all the electronic docs.

Just need to do my sons medical expenses but even without that the return is a decent bit of change. I do believe thats why the didn't bother doing the auto assesment.

For the 1st time, SARS did not auto-assess me this year. I filed on Monday afternoon and was paid this morning.

I'm so sad. I filed on Friday evening but I submitted like 16 docs for verification. So that might take a little time.

I just got a notification saying they need more documentation. They require supporting invoices related to deductions and also a rental/lease agreement. I've sent them all section 18A tax certificates, RA tax certs, just a lease agreement was missing.

This is a bummer.

If they're a bit vague on what docs they want, I'm hoping they'll be clarify exactly what they need over the phone?

PS. Is a lease agreement a common thing for them to ask for on rental properties?

for the last 3 years, their focus are landlords !!!!

I submitted on the 7th. Got an email on the 10th apparently my bank details were incorrect. Mind you I have a savings account at the one bank and then my actual account with another. Sars have these details for the past couple of years now. I followed all their instruction on updating etc. Even did it while on a call with a consultant. This morning I called and was told to send them proof of bank account/3 months bank statement. Certified ID. A pic of ne holding my ID in the one and and a hand written note dated and asking them to update my details How can I take these people serious?? Anyway let me go and take my pic. I need that refund.

This could just be the start. Ive had multiple rounds of documentation. One year they did not accept my IT3B for interest on my bonds with rentals, had to supply 12 months bank statements, a letter explaining why I made the loss, every month of rates, levies, lease agreements and then a breakdown of all costs (even though this breakdown is essentially filled in on efiling)
was a 3 month process

You're kidding!

I've provided the monthly rates and taxes, the schedule of levies and the lease agreement was just sent today. But I can't believe they wanted a years worth of bank statements.

Submitted now. Assessment says not selected for verification. Whoop whoop.

Impressed?
We have like...what..3 million taxpayers in this country of 70 million...
A drop in the bucket. And believe me SARS are rolling out the red carpet for us poor shmucks who pay the bills in this here socialist state.

Yup, I had to highlight the payments each month from the tenant, highlight the bond payments coming off, highlight the payments leaving for council tax and levies etc
On every single statement for a year

Yikes.

How did you illustrate what portion of the bond payment was interest? Because only the interest is deductible.
