Skyworth Binge Android TV box

Has has anyone tried connecting a soundbar via bluetooth on the skyworthbox? It doesnt seem to pick up the speaker

Ok so I'm experiencing a problem with my box, when the box goes into sleep mode and it comes out of it, the box always becomes unresponsive and remote doesn't change anything even trying to power it down, apps don't work only way to fix is to unplug the power and restart it, then everything works fine after restart until the next sleep mode again,

Anyone else have this issue?
I have similar experience. Sleep mode is useless to me as I always need to restart anyway.

Has anyone tried loading a custom ROM onto this Box? Seems like it may be a way to get around some of the issues?

I doubt a custom ROM exist for this box. If you find one let me know and I will flash it...

I have experienced where after a some time, trying to watch a movie on Showmax just hangs. I have to pull out the power cable and plug it back in to get the SkyBox working again. I suspect this might be due to the box disconnecting from the WiFi and not reconnecting when appropriate.

I have the exact same problem, and it is becoming extremely frustrating. I only use it for DSTV Now in my Braai Room, and I always have to unplug it at the back and then it works fine. It has only been like this in the last 2 months. Is there a Fix?

Seems like wifi struggles since update. When you first setup connection to 5ghz is easy and fast. After update struggles to connect to sane connection

Might be completely unrelated to all of the above mentioned freezing problems, but I'm 90% certain that I've narrowed down my box's freezing/unresponsive moodswings to the box overheating. I don't know how much the sleepmode is contributing to the heat problem (wish i could just turn the thing off), but every time my box froze and i had to pull the power and reset, i felt the box and it was quite hot.

My box sits on top of the TV stand, no sun, quite a cool area in the house, so it's not even a case that it's sitting in a closed cabinet boiling in the afternoon sun.

I've since opted to place it on top of my plex "server" next to the tv cabinet (just a pc with a gaming chassis that has a 120mm fan vent on the top) and that seems to have stopped the freezing. The unit remains relatively cool. So if it is a heat issue, might be worthwhile in the short term grabbing one of those usb powered laptop fans and just have it plugged into the box to cool it. OR wait on skyworth to issue a fix in software for whatever process is causing it to run hot (obviously if heat is the issue).

Also noticed issues when connected to 5ghz.

Is the red light flashing on the remote when you press back and OK? Note, the correct sequence is back and Ok, not back and O.

Regarding the freezing issues, we are still investigating - they do not appear to be hardware related. Full power off mode can be achieved by holding down the power button and selecting power off as an interim measure.

I have escalated the issue and we hope to get feedback soon.

That doesn't even work you have to unplug the box

If I do that the box goes into Safe Mode, so In order to fix that, I need to unplug. I must add that I am also on a 5Ghz network. One issue I have found with 5Ghz, is only certain channel bands are supported by the Skyworth Box, so I have had to manually set my channels on the router, or it does not pick up the 5Ghz signal.

I hope that helps.

The box will reboot into safe mode if you hold the "OK" button down on the Power Off selection. This is a standard Android feature. It should not go into safe mode if you "tap" the button.

I also have the same issue. It was working wonderful in the beginning but now it feels like a Windows 10 running on 640kb
