Hit reply too quickly, sorry. It can be resolved by disabling HDMI-CEC Auto Language from Settings, HDMI-CEC, Auto change language, or just disable CEC altogether.

There may be future security and maintenance releases on Android 9.0, but that will depend on what issues are picked up in Android 9.0.
 
Just got the skyworth box, while using my samsung remote it works. It's the remote you control with motion. Only button that is not working is the back button
 
Currently on "special" for R500 (incl delivery) via E-Bucks store on FNB app - if on level 5.
 
Does the box work on Panasonic HD 4 K tv?
DSTV now does not work on it's normal platform.
 
Thank you. Box ordered and waiting impatiently. Althought the Tv is running on Firefox it prohibited me to watch DSTV.now on that platform. The reason for buying the box. Fingers crossed.

I have a Panasonic 4k with this box. Works well.

Send a note to the Dev team to create a way to shutdown/put the device into standby from the Home Screen.
I prefer using my TV remote and I haven't found a way to turn off the device with it

Yes, it does not get detected as a desktop browser ... if you can install the Silk browser on that platform it should works as you can "request desktop site" from the settings menu.
 
I saw the Skyworth Binge Android TV box on the shelf at Makro yesterday for R899. So this is finally on the shelves at brick and mortar shops and not just for sale at Takealot.

We're getting closer to a stable build. LED control is coming(you'll be able to disable the LED if you want), and variable frame rates is being tested. We're not sure we can get it working on 9.0 just yet, but we're still looking into it.

Can I ask, could I use Google home mini speaker to control this TV Box?

Good question. I'd also like to know. You should be able to, as it's Chromecast certified; but that didn't work with Netflix so who knows
 
Android 9 is the end of the road according to a forum member for these and similar boxes ( Xiaomi Mi Box S , Telkom Lit Box ) with the Amlogic S905X SoC , right ?
