In my mind Im hoping the GPU takes some of the load off the i3 and balances out the performance, but we'll see. At least by the end of my experiment we'll know what the minimum specs are.

What sort of lag is there in BI when viewing multiple streams? (like 12)
 
Any one tried this yet, seems like object detection using HASS.IO without BI and AITools?

Will collect my Tenda 5 port (4 port) poe switch tomorrow. Kept forgetting to collect it.

Will see how cameras operate on my old i5 with 16gb ram and 6GB gtx 1660 PC. Not sure what type of i5 cpu but pretty old generation. Might upgrade the cpu, if current setup an issue, but for now pc hardly used.

Ordered an esquire NVR but cancelled order as I decided I'd rather get a Dahua (for compatibility with ADT Fidelity) or the reolink NVR (with a 3TB hdd included, it seems decent pricing and compatibility). No money for these now.

Swear I saw somebody post a link to DVR from esquire that had built in facial detection, etc .it was a black Friday special but search is failing me and nothing on their website seems to show a DVR with these capabilities

So Kview is revived. It was the PSU that somehow gave up the ghost. I had a sonoff L1 PSU lying around and the specs looked similar (just 0.5A less current) , plugged it in, and it was up again. Happy Days! Now thinking my NAS that died recently could have a similar issue. Just strange as all of these devices are plugged into the same circuit and they are all protected by those expensive Ellies surge protected plugs (some times two in a line). #hoping

Also following you guys here, I see the value of ojbect detection. In my case, it would only for the cams on the outside walls but not inside the boundary. Just realised that my cams on the exterior walls could be changed from RG59 to IP cams, as they are connected right now with Cat6/Baluns so the swapout should be simple. I just need to inject POE from in the 'network closet' ... now to find more way to spend money :P
 
Anybody selling their 5MP RLC410s cameras?

Think I want to replace my old analog hikvision and wifi reolink Argus 2.
 
Why does the B800 state it cannot work INDEPENDENTLY and only with their 2 NVRs?

I am using my PC as an NVR.
 
Cannot work independently.

Cannot support ONVIF.



Guess its because ONVIF not supported. But surely one should still be able to use desktop PC as NVR?

Review below confirms only works with reolink nvr. Strangely despite reolink supporting onvif their D and B 400/800 lack onvif.

Recently got an EZVIZ C3X for my father in law.

The built-in person detection is really good -- it picks up almost instantly and the camera's lights/alarm starts flashing immediately. No false alarms so far (but only had it up a day). The notification does take a couple of seconds, but considering there's no cloud subscription required for any of this, I'm really chuffed.

Secondly, the color nightvision is really cool. Here's the old camera he had (Husky Air):

Here's the new one -- bear in mind this was taken tonight during load-shedding, so there were no lights - only the moonlight.

(The plant does look kinda funky)

I got it for R2 565 from Avico.Pro. Not the cheapest camera out there, but he's already in the EZVIZ ecosystem so it was easier for him to stick with it.

(The number plate is quite legible, I just blacked it out for privacy reasons)

Im still trying to get rid of my EZViz C3W, so give me a shout if he needs more.

I might buy it - but still testing if I can get the EZVIZ cameras to run over Wifi in Hik-connect. I have a lot of Hikvision wired cams but have one location I don't want to try to get ethernet cable to. But also not in the mood to run 2 apps.

I managed to get it added to Hik Connect via cable but that misses the point. However the add wifi-camera feature in HIK Connect looks for a different AP than the one EZVIZ cameras tries to broadcast.
