Fiat Panda set to return as one of two new EVs in 2023
Panda and Punto could be reborn with electric power; focus on B-segment and crossovers promised
Fiat will launch two new EVs this year, one of which is expected to be a small SUV badged as the Fiat Panda.
The two models will be part of the major EV push being made by Fiat parent company Stellantis. Its European EV portfolio will increase from 22 currently to 30 this year and 42 by the end of 2024.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares announced the two new Fiats in an earnings call detailing the company’s bumper 2022 profits.
Tavares didn’t reveal the identity of either model, but the one expected to be badged as the Panda is slated to be built alongside the new Jeep Avenger EV at Stellantis’ plant in Tychy, Poland, and use the same eCMP platform.
The Avenger will also be sold with internal combustion engines in select markets in southern Europe, meaning the new Panda could also be sold with a petrol option.

Next-generation Panda to debut on Fiat's 125th anniversary next year
Fiat is yet again set to shake things up in the subcompact vehicle arena. Marking the company's 125th anniversary, a huge occasion in itself, Fiat plans to debut the next generation of its legendary Panda on July 11, 2024. This event, announced by CEO Olivier Francois in a recent interview, promises to unfold a new chapter in the Panda's narrative.
The Fiat Panda, a car whose charm and utility have made it an enduring favorite, first rolled out onto the roads in 1980. Subsequent generations in 2003 and 2011 injected the model with renewed vitality and added much-needed brakes that work, further fueling its popularity. Now, Fiat is preparing to introduce the fourth generation, and it aims to encapsulate the car's spirit in a "cool, popular, affordable" package. The “affordable” part can be tricky though, all we need is to look at the pricing of the latest Fiat 600e.

And Stellantis, the parent company of Fiat, seems poised to meet this demand.
Launching in July 2024, the Fiat Panda EV is set to take on rivals like Renault's Dacia Spring and some noteworthy Chinese carmakers, redefining the game of EV affordability. But this isn't Stellantis' first rodeo in the budget EV arena. The automaker plans to introduce an EV city car from its French brand Citroen, also priced below €25,000, early next year. Dubbed the e-C3, this city car will be manufactured in Slovakia, promising competitive pricing against Dacia Spring and France's upcoming all-electric Renault 5.

Fiat Pandina EV to start from €20,000 in Europe
The Pandina is an upcoming version of the currently existing Panda that will be offered in two options - hybrid and fully electric. The Pandina is going to be produced on three continents, but it will be sold worldwide with specific customization options depending on the market. The most enticing aspect of this car, however, is the price.
The BEV version is going to start at around €20,000, while the hybrid will ask €15,000. Stellantis' plant in Serbia will be the first one to kick off production, but the Betim factory in Brazil and the one in Morocco will also be joining the manufacturing process. Up until now, Fiat has been making its Fiat 500L in the Kragujevac factory in Serbia.
