LOL iv already met the guy face to face, if the phone doesnt arrive or isnt original he will personally refund me.

So funny though Rendier, you seem so threatened by this deal to go through. Cause if it does you been ripped off by a couple thousand rand. Anyways if and when the phones land there will be around 6 phones that will be up on bid or buy for sale, or if you stay in pretoria you can drive to his house to pay cash upfront and collect the phone. 16gb will be R5500.

So il keep you guys updated. If the phones dont arrive il let guys know and luckly I will get my money back if that answers your question Rendier.

Im really not worried. Just worried bout your cash. I can't keep up with the demand so clearly ppl are aware of how good my service and products are.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

In general it is considered rude to tell ppl you have lots of $$$.

Oh..... my gardener saved up R1500 over a period of a year. He also told me he is a rich man now......

Anyway nocolas, im not trying to be funny, and I am one of the okes who will buy one of those 16Gig phones after you get yours.

So please keep us posted and when you get yours, take a photo of it in your hand with THAT days newspaper in the background...... like in the movies when they need to confirm if a person is still allive that is kept for ransom.. he he

But my life motto is :
Take risks: if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise.

If you read above you can meet at his house or in a public area, try out the phone and then purchase that. Explain how he can fraud you then?`
anyways im not making money on this and i dont care. Those who want 2 know if i get the phone can pm me and il take any pics u want of the phone (like with the newspaper) hehe and il send it to you.

LOL this nicolasvr is obviously part of the same scammer team, only posting in this thread after WE pointed out that the phone was fake and not concerned about being ripped-off is a dead give-away.

I have been following this thread on and off and I must say it has become rather entrertaining, I even have my own little name for it: 'Scamwars', I keep my mornings fun by imagining a reality show based around it.

Look in life you gotta make your own fun, right?

So in that regard let me pee on the cornflakes and state that anyone considering spending upwards of R5000 on 'illegally' importing a device that is available here through legitimate channels and will thus not be under warranty of any sort has got to have rocks in their head.

Just think it through people.

I personally imported a 1st gen iPhone and have been using it for some time but the one thing that really irks me is that when (not if) the day comes that something breaks I am stuffed, I have zero recourse and I have to live with that.

Had the 1st gen been available in this country I'd have taken it through legitimate channels no doubt about it.

At the very least anyone considering buying through one of the 'back alleys' indicated on this thread should wait for the official SA release, then wait a month or two and watch the price drop and then consider whether or not an unwarrantied iPhone is really what you want to saddle yourself with given the official price at that stage and whatever it is being offered for on the black market.

Just a thought.

lol Dobee I have my own successful international cosmetic company.
I have no interest what so ever to get into this import export idea of cell phones. I totally agree with slinkyMike. If I were everyone I Would rather just wait for vodacom to launch the iphone so that they come out with the support for the phone and you can insure it through them. I was just inpatient to wait!

I have been scammed before and I hope never again. if this guy is offering to meet you in person to sell you a phone, thats totally not how I got scammed. But like SlinkyMike said, there are other things to worry bout.

Anyways im having fun on this form, hehe I hope all you readers are enjoying the posts :p PS if you live in pta, go watch batman on imax. very good :)

Ye when I get it il do it no problem.
Want to ask as im not to clued up with the unlocking. People say the iphone 3g cant be unlocked yet. I have seen some forums and a video on youtube that show that it is.
Check this out and let me know what you guys think:
http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/8621588/_3G_IPHONE_FREE_YOUR_3G_IPHONE_UNLOCKING_PROVIDED.html
He claims he can unlock the iphone 3g and there is an unlock for it?

Im lost

The leaders of the unlocking scene does not have a unlock yet and no forums indicate anything regarding a unlock for the 3G version yet so this guy either uses a hardware unlock. I saw him earlier on there. I asked a question and he has deleted my statement. Enough Said.

All I know is that there def isn't a software unlock out yet.

There is no software unlock, but I have secured a supplier for a sim-card adapter that unlocks the iPhone for a very reasonable price. I am getting a test unit early next week, and once confirmed working - I can start to offer the item.
