anyhow, visual voicemail / gps maps etc what exactly do we get from the iPhone 3g in the 3rd world...
Just a thought. I wonder how much of the world’s economic meltdown, can be attributed to the iPhone. I mean, how many of us are actually supposed to be working, and not whacking the ‘F5’ key through the keyboard?

- All first generation iPhones and imported phones will now unlock in South Africa if officially updated through iTunes. This is what Vodacom has told us, but we have not tested it yet.

Got to agree with you on that one. Coupled with the idea of not having any clue what the pricing will be like. Yet, I still find my self strangely drawen to Midrand

... If this is the case then Kudos to Vodacom because the software unlock is not out yet. And if they do that I can bring in locked iPhones and unlock it through them and sell it at R1000 cheaper
