Give the Appstore a try and load some Apps, also visit the iphone tricks thread. Maybe you need some Apps to make it worthwhile.
 
Where can I get iPhone pouches online - does the iPod Touch case fit the iPhone 3G?

Just one more question, can a jailbroken iPhone be upgraded to new official apple firmware - like when version 2.2 firmware comes out, can I just upgrade the jailbroken 2.1 firmware to the new 2.2 firmware via iTunes?

Yes you can but you will loose the jailbreak and your Cydia apps. So it is always best to wait for the dev-team to release an update of quickpwn before you upgrade.
 
Thanks - and I could obviously just restore version 2.1 official firmware via iTunes should I wish to revert to the official firmware.
 
Ok so dunno if anyone else experienced the same sorts of problems as me....
Bought an 8Gb Black on launch friday, to discover my first issue with it,

about 4 dead pixels, so i thought eish, not that big a deal because they not in a seriously annoying position. later that evening when it was dark i picked up the phone and saw my second issue - along the left hand side inbetween the glass screen and the chrome there was light shining through, googled it and apparently its called a light leak - unacceptable, but i got over it then i got the nail in the coffin and on monday i noticed specks of dust under the screen...... for a 6300+ phone, absolute crap....

so on wednesday the 1st of October i decided to go to vodacare Canal Walk and they took the phone without any issue reassuring me i would get a brand new unit because they do not have refurbished units... although it has a 48 hour turn around because my phone had to be sent to JHB and inspected blah blah then there was also an issue of the phone only being ready for collection on monday (today) because there was some issue with couriers, fair enough I live in Cape Town SA, 48 hours would have been a miracle...

so i phoned today only to be informed, no-one knows where my phone is - no-one can get hold of someone who should know something - no-one knows anything and i am beyond furious... waiting for my phone to be returned.... just thought id rant a bit let you guys know what the policies are on returning, just expect pathetic service from vodacare

Yep just put your iPhone into restore mode/restore and it will be as good as new.

Sorry to hear this, would have been great if Apple had a proper presence in SA, would have been taken care of better at an Applecare center I would assume.

I would phone again. It sounds like you got through to someone who has no idea what is going on.

On the other hand, I bought a 16Gb iPhone Black and it's been perfect. Not a dead pixel, mark or anything to speak of. I am particularly fussy aswell!
 
hi guys i can connect to any website on the iphones safari browser but cannot update weather or mail or stocks? someone please give advice
 
have done that, vodacom are apparently experiencing 3g and gprs downloading issues. maybe thats the problem not sure i connected while at vodaworld this morning
 
Anyone having problems with iPhones cracking?

I have a crack between the silent switch and the metal frame (3mm?). Its small, but a crack none the less. sigh.

Exactly what I said regarding what to expect once they launched the iPhone 3G.

And people still thing a warranty means anything over here. lol

Replaced two DOA iPhone first gen. with Apple in America. Took 2 weeks and were back in my hands... that means two weeks in total... to ship to USA, check the phones and them to ship new ones back.

Makes you wonder how it's possible for Vodacom to be so bad at customer care...

Lots of ppl in the US have reported this prob...

Check it out on Google.
 
Trust me i have phoned everyone possible option and crapped on every person i got to speak to.... apparently 'the batch is lost'..... Vodacare is unbelievable with this...

I don't understand why our entire country refuses to see the importance of efficiency and how much it effects customer satisfaction undoubtedly increasing sales
