Uncapped ADSL for R159

I am very impressed with Mweb 4MB Uncapped. Its not laggy like the others and have full speeds all the time :). Best of all their support department is the best!
No More Afrihost
No More Webafrica
No More Axxess

Just pure uncapped (100GB but who`s counting) at cheap cheap price :)
 
Nice MyISP , the uncapped market looks ripe for the picking
the only question is which one.......decisions...........decisions :)

I'm also impressed, got the 4mbit with Mweb (i love the 300 free Hotspot minutes... thanks Mweb).

@ R539 - The speed is really good.

*I wonder if Mweb will have a SLAMback and slap all these "uncapped" ISP specials yet again <--- That would be Jaw-dropping

I can't help but wonder, ISPs have blamed Telkom for the high bandwidth prices all this time... suddenly one ISP drops the price and all of them almost simultaneously drops theirs. I think we are being taken for a ride by more than just Telkom.

Well think about it this way. They are actually very sneaky because it`s not truly uncapped service in a sense :whistle:
Theoretically the speed of your line determines your cap if you had to wind it http://www.hellkom.co.za/download-projections/

That`s why I think we don`t end up seeing bigger caps cause a 384k can only do 100GB a month Full STOP etc. which makes it uncapped :p
384k = 105.7GB
512k = 141.0GB
1Mbps = 275.4GB
4Mbps = 1.1TB
24Mbps = 6.6TB (max for ADSL 2+ ,copper limitation under good conditions)

Why would mom and pop pay more then they are presently paying just to get uncapped which they don't need?

Even for R 159 a month the contention ratios must be heavily against the user - how can myisp come out with an offer like this when the big guns have gone within 20 bucks of the mweb offer.

From a friend who works for a company that sells bandwidth to MWEB and a few other ISPs - yes, it is unsustainable when keeping in mind what people are expecting. It can be perfectly sustainable (to a degree) if they make contention ratios higher and shape the **** out of the ports, which is what is happening at the moment.

These services were announced barely 2 weeks ago - there is no way you can test actual performance at this stage.

I want to believe as much as anybody else that this is the turning point, but the fact that people are complaining about slow speeds and it's only 2 weeks in makes me wonder. Like I said, I will hold back and see who is able to carry their users the best.

no thresholds,
no limitations,
totally unshaped,
for a cheaper price,
would be great.
