From looking around, it seems there are two options to go for with uncapped ADSL (512k line).

The cheapest uncapped ADSL appears to be ODS at R1190 pm.

Judging by this forum, the best support is from OpenWeb at R1369 pm.

Are there any other viable choices besides these two?
Is OpenWebs support worth the R179 pm?

Edit: My mistake, didn't read the fine print. ODS quote you excluding vat. Nice of em.

Rather go with Openweb, got uncapped 1mbit ADSL from them and its amazing!

yip.....ods are exclsive of vat, so ods are only like 12rand cheaper........

i'd go wit openweb :)

i just have one problem with openweb

their uncapped isn't unshaped service.

Just one question are both openweb and ODS on Satellite? or do they use Fibre connections? Since Ping is important to me to :) currently I use multiple 10 gig accounts but an uncapped account seems tempting.

I seriously found the uncapped has WAY less shaping than the normal 1,2,3gig, etc accounts from IS that we use...

I was able to stream videos perfectly at 3mbit quite easily whilst on my normal account i battle like hell!

If you looking for unshaping for torrents(super gay) then get opentorrent, worked great, and was able to download my files at full speed...

And the Forum wars begin.

Having Said that, R 12 over 12 months is R 144.00 which is not a small amount. considering the services are exact.

Just some news. We have been in discussion with (Cannot Mention) and we will be looking at releasing both a 2mb and 4mb service,

as well as a Express Fibre product.

But the Uncapped accounts arent totally unshaped.

I will not lie on my website.

They are only Unshaped in the evenings and on weekends.
And yes, all service providers selling Uncapped Express sells exactly the same product.

dude i dont agree with this thinking

12 a month is nothing

but i love openweb long time so dont take my word for it

what is 144 rand a year when u spending 1300 on uncapped?

chump change

dude even ppl in england and america are screwed when it comes to int gaming
it isnt only south africa with high pings

I dont share the same opinion, any saving on money is great and all adds up at the end,

But to straighten out an Issue, ODS's accounts are Unshaped and Uncaped.

We also do not apply the 10 day roll over period etc, you are welcome to ask

any of our customer how they find the unshaped service.

Thats correct.

So our accounts must be diffrent from everyone else's reseller account.

Could it be that we have struck a good deal with IS.
