Vodacom expanding eSIM support next week

Vodacom launching eSIM for all customers

Vodacom is launching full eSIM support for all personal and business customers.

Tech publication Recharged was the first to spot that the operator recently published terms and conditions for eSIMs on its website.
Old news, already using prepaid esim on my Samsung phone. It soft launched on 22 May and they charged me R25 for the prepaid esim

And here I was thinking FNB took their sweet time with ApplePay....

Can’t wait to switch to Vodacom. This MTN network is rubbish along with their offering. And I’m on Sky Unlimited.

This is great, my dad is on Vodacom contract, data is pricey, now I can switch Vodacom to eSim and then get him a physical MTN sim card, to have cheap prepaid Afrihost data. You can now essentially have a dual sim.

Activation fee? Why? It’s not like they have to ship out any SIMs

So stupid that you have to physically go into a store for a prepaid esim. Also, how can you not "have stock" of something that is a virtual digital thing?

Just be patient. It will eventually pop up hopefully.
Its been 2 and half weeks since I had the swap done and numerous calls with agents logging service requests to the wrong departments. None of them know how the esim process works.

Edit: The worst part is I can't even use the number and I bet they will bill me for it at the end of the month

Oh that is a ferk up then. I think go to the store and redo the sim swap again. 2 weeks is a long time without any progress.
