I don't even know what all that means. I'm on Mweb and did 90gigs on my little 384 last month.
 
Hey guys,

Will chat to our Product guys about this, however I do think it has something to do with Telkom upgrading 384kbps lines to 1Mbps. Can't say for 100% sure - but will have some feedback here as soon as the team gets back to me :)

Wow thats very good work hehe

That window is their fair usage policy and if you stay in that camp you wont get shaped IF the traffic gets heavy. (traffic 0-6am doesn't count)

If you're a heavy user 24/7 do you get shaped in the day if the traffic gets heavy?
And for comparison.. what torrent download speed do you get?

I used to get 45kb/s + with Cybersmart but since the move to WA its more like 35kb/s. Maximum download (normal exe from fast server) are also down from 48kb/s to 40kb/s which is sad.

I heard that with MWEB (although this was a year ago) you could only get 2-4kb/s with p2p traffic in the day.

@WAJeff - Would be nice if there was a network status of how much traffic your network have left (example: 75% of capacity is being used). This way I could see when I'm very likely to get shaped :D Would also be very transparent ;)

@pjn123: I think we where looking at this, however it wouldn't tie in with our current monitoring solutions we have in place.
 
so if u stay off the network between 6am and 12am you fine? but how do u manage that though? its uncapped right? so if i get this i would just queue downloads and forget about them.

this behaviour will probably get me included in the rolling window thingie. then they throttle me down to what speed during the day? ive seen the %'s but wondering what the experience has been like.

I don't do torrents, just usenet. My speeds are mostly around 38ish but sometimes go up to 42, although, end of last month, it dropped to 23 for the last couple of days. Will check what happens this month. I noticed no speed changes on normal browsing though.
