Weight Loss Thread 2014

Eish no... I was off booze for 6 months... I'm too tired... I'll do a writeup again sometime. I'm not killing myself until friday.

Well... how about some links regarding your weekly sugar binge... if it's not basically an adaptation of IIFYM to please the sweet tooth.
I strongly question the fact that you call this "Carb suicide" and like to brag about it and try engage other readers in it, it does not seem like a healthy approach to fat loss.

I hope people are not taking advice (or anything) in this thread too seriously.

I will get to it. I have posted EXTENSIVELY about it before. I don't care if people listen or not. I am happy with my results so far, ask Shaun how I'm looking.

So last year I made it down from 95 to 82Kgs.
Currently sitting at just over 80 now. Hoping to get down to the low 70's this year. :)

Started gym again this week after a nice December break although I have been cycling a lot.

Diet is mainly:
Breakfast: Instant oats / eggs on toast (1slice) /muesli + yoghurt + blueberries
Lunch/Dinner: Combination Veggies, salad, chickpeas, chicken, egg etc.

So basically minimal carbs from rice/bread/potato etc.
Although I do have a nice pizza and nandos almost weekly :D

No comment on the grounds that I may incriminate myself :o

Week 1, down 3.2 kg. From 104.9 kg to 101.7 kg.

Whoot!

As expected based on previous attempts. If I behave it will settle to 1.5-2.0 kg a week now.

You don't have to retype anything, you can just post a couple reference links. Or even link back to wherever you previously posted it. I don't doubt that your approach is working, but then the same could be said for meth-heads.

why are you condemning the whole thread?

There is some decent and reasonable advice, but there are some dodgy ideas being floated as well. Someone who doesn't know better and isn't interested in three hours of reading to understand a particular body process might well just pick the approach that seems to have given the most impressive results. So far I believe that winner is the "alkaline diet". I had some questions there but whatever.

Last year's thread is HUGE. I would love to do even greater diligence to the topic. I have no idea where the posts even are. And quite frankly if people are not interested in hours of reading... quite frankly they deserv. Actually I'm about to be rude. I will get back to this another day. Forgive me, I'm grumpy, and busy fighting with SARS.

fair enough, I think some of us are doing our best to keep the thread honest, but as with all threads that get this big it does become difficult to catch every single post that's out on the fringe and taking time out to actually come back with sound retort takes time which isn't always available :)

These feels, have to suck in my stomach to wear jeans that were lose on my in November. :'(

PS guys, please remember to PM updates to me on a Monday. At the moment I definately don't have time to go through the thread and pick up random updates.

Thanks

jumped on the scale out of interest this morning, shed 2 of the 3.5kg I picked up during the holidays :p

I'm in love with the recipes in Noake's book and they're stretching the domestic's cooking skills too, but she's a quick learner :)

This link should explain. I would think it applies more to people who have stalled or at a point where they don't have much weight to lose.

Take anything in the thread seriously? Psh. We're all here to not lose weight and laugh at people who read what gets shared here.
