Weight Loss Thread 2014

Right I have a question. Can a person who is on thrombosis therapy (Commercialised Rat Poison aka Warfarin) be put on a LCHF diet to lose weight? My dad suffers from thrombosis and will be on Warfarin for the rest of his life, ever since he stopped smoking he has ballooned in size and now weighs in at ~125kg. (From 70 kg)

He has said he wants to lose weight, but because of the inconvenience of having to cook 2-3 different dishes for one meal is not motivated to or simply doesn't want to.

While I don't know all that much about thrombosis, LCHF is incredibly good for the cardiovascular system and prevents arterial hardening. I imagine it wouldn't have much of an impact on his thrombosis, but might be a decent preventative measure if clots do move in his body...

Okay I have a race at 18:30, 10km and the weather is turning for the worse and Mondays lunges are still killing my thighs. . .

Gonna push through even if it is only gonna be a brisk walk!

Will post tomorrow how it went!

No medical reason why he can't. In fact, his weight at the moment's as great a risk factor for thrombosis, heart attacks and strokes as his smoking ever was.

So even after not having lunch today and only having a small yogurt before gym, I managed my normal 40/20 strength/cardio workout. I came home and had a can of sardines and a chunk of boerenkaas and half liter water and I feel fine.

I'm only seeing the gym on Saturday morning again so I'm curious to see what the hunger patterns look like tomorrow with no work out in the system.

Today was a really good day. :D

I'm still struggling with bouts of extreme fatigue.

It's possibly because I am not eating regularly, I'm kind of just listening to my body.

Still shedding weight though.

Might be a silly question, but are you getting enough fat in? I thought I was, tried to convince myself it was just work exhausting me. Started having dollops of cream in my coffee - 2 cups a day with a tablespoon of double fat cream and bam! Lots of energy until I go to bed at night!

I have been upping my intake, to see if that makes a difference.

Now I am stuffed full for about 16 hours after eating, hehe.

1. How do you feel about needles?
2. Have you checked your iron levels?

1.1Maybe try a vita b and complex injection.

2.1 I was chronically fatigued, I thought it was the no carbs thing. Turned out I have an iron deficiency.
Have it checked, I didn't even think of it, I mean I cut only carbs and sugar.

Hi all. So I've lost a couple of kg's and I'm down from 112 to 107 in 3 weeks. For the first two weeks I didn't drink much water, only when I was thirsty. This week I've made a commitment to drink 2.25 liters at work. Since I've been doing this I've not been losing weight and I'm also not running to the toilet a lot either. Am I seriously dehydrated or what's going on? I'm doing Lchf a d otherwise feeling great. I also do a bit of treadmill running every 2nd day.

Ok, Im down again. Ive lost 5.5 kg now in 3 weeks. Now to break the big 100 target!

I used to have to take iron and chromium supplements but feel perfectly fine since adjusting my diet.
Still can't hurt to check it out though.

Race went well, finished in 1:03 and we (gym training partner) could've done a sub 60, but two other gym buddies (who only do weights) had to walk a couple of times and I have watched Band of Brothers before!

Next one sub 60!

omg I'm jealous. I don't think I'd even be able to run to the fridge right now...
I better get started on my jogging again asap.

Well done :)

Yesterday I had ONE beer at 6pm. Checked now and I'm completely out of ketosis.

I've had a tummy bug now going on 2 weeks. I can still function pretty well but my intake is very limited and my outtake well.. is unspeakable (basically I'm spraying the toilet bowl like a crop duster). But the upside is, I've slimmed down considerably. My tummy is almost totally gone. Hopefully I can keep up the lower intake levels when it all clears up because I'm looking gooood.
