Weight Loss Thread 2014

I did too and it was vile!!!!!!!/IMG]

Vile is what my family thought of the chocolate ganache I made yesterday. It tasted too sweet so I added 3 squares of my dark chocolate to it. Now I have a whole deliciously bitter chocolate cake to eat all by myself :D

Hahaha, Ja, I've also already been told that's my special bread and to enjoy it!! :o

I never thought I would say this but after 1 month I'm already fed up with all the meat and eggs I've been consuming!!!

Eggs are replacing my carbs/starches/wheat. So instead of pasta or bread or rice or potatoes I'm eating frigging egg!!! Fried, scrambled, hard boiled, poached, omelettes!!!! I must be eating close to 20 eggs a week!!!!! What about you guys??!!!

Fillet for lunch most days, chicken breasts for supper, perpetually snacking on biltong, almonds and pecan nuts!! Avo's are out of season and at R18 each for the Spaniard imported avo's, no avo's for now!!

Sad part is I don't think I've dropped any weight!!!! Feel thinner but I'm not. I'm just no longer bloated due to cutting out all grains!!

Do you guys allow a cheat day?!! How often and how overboard do you go??

Anyway....

Agreed!! If Archer built up your expectations I've neutralized them!! :p

If I make it again I might include crushed pecan nuts or almonds or roasted sun flower seeds. The olives didn't work at all...

Had a little nibble to make sure I wasnt going crazy after reading about your disaster sand_man - bread is a definite winner, and with butter its even better! :D Maybe it was the olives that did something funky? Followed the recipe to the letter, minus 1g of stevia (so only used 2g for those that are math impaired :p)

Yeah, I think I killed it with the olives! I was thinking olive bread at the time of making. Not convinced that it would taste MUCH better without them though. Will give it a bash and revert. The texture of the bread feels all wrong too! Nuts could help with that.

I will be buying this book...seems like a good thing to have considering the recipes in it!

It's essentially a recipe book! Some awesome recipes to be had! NOT FOR VEGETARIANS!! :p

I'll try find the article, but it was a blog about the keto diet and gyming.
He was talking about carbo-loading once a week, Friday evening and whole day Saturday.

I let myself have a half a cheat day, dinner on a Saturday or Sunday will have carbs. I also make sure that my off day for working out is not the same day as carb day so the carbs I do eat, get burned away.

Btw - where the hell are you trying to get avo's that cost R18 each, yoh. I bought a 4 pack yesterday for like R28 odd

that's a friggen bargain, you can't get them for less than R15 to R18 each in Jozi, not avo season so everyone is selling the Spanish imports up here

just remember that you'll have to experiment with different variations of base recipes because the base is no longer wheat based, what might have worked quite well with a wheat/flour base may not work at all with low carb ingredients due to the lack of gluten. I'm sure DJ... can probably fill us in on some of the science in this regard

Ouch. Need to setup an underground avo network then ..... for the avo starved brethren like

hahaha, lol at you lot... I thought you were eating rabbit (haas) flavoured avos!
I also love 'hass' avos, but Woolies is selling them for like R48 per 4 pack
