Vanilla took months to get to 60. It took me a week and a half of casual questing (+/- 2-3 hours every evening) to get from 1-90. Just entering an instance will grant you 2 levels.

Hardly took me months to get to 60. But yes, probably not as quick as it now does from 1 - 90 :o

A lot of people only started playing WoW after all the pre-TBC nerfs.

Original WoW took months, because there were many quests areas that would end before you were the right level to move on to the next questing area. Then you'd have to either grind the rest out or do instances. Blizzard then boosted quest XP in later patches to "smooth" out the process.

Also, back in 2004 it wasn't about getting to 60 as fast as possible. Instances took hours to complete and there was even a level ~38-48 10-man raid that people could do.

Just finding the Maraudon instance portal took hours...and Timbermaw grinding just to get to Winterspring *shudders*

Casually took me a week as well to go 1-90 on my warrior, far less painful than what it used to be

It took me just over 21 days of gameplay (500 hours) with my Mage to get to 60 in Vanilla. My Rogue took me 16 or 18 days. Everyone else had more or less the same time scale. Putting in that amount of time whilst working/having other commitments would take a couple of months for most people. 500 hours / 20 hours per week = 20+ weeks of gaming, or ~5 months. That was just ridiculous.

When did they change all the stats? I logged back in after a year of not playing only to find all my stats downgraded...to be honest i think it's a cool move considering the health pools just got silly.

They changed it with 6.0.2, to be honest they've dumbed down many classes now.

Much better now. Does feel weird hitting for 6k or 12k where you used to hit for 80k+ :o

Oh yeah? What happened? I'm guessing frost mages and blood DK's are still ruling the roost.

Great so we can hook up again. I transferred my mage there. Currently messing about with different classes to see which I can boost to 90 on Draenor.

I have NFC which class to boost to 90. My (t)rusty old rogue dinged 90 this weekend to join my feral kitty/meat tank. A caster would probably be a good idea...since I've only ever played Melee.

Well my SO was pulling 1.3M dps on my old hunter, and i was pulling around 900K on my arms warrior. But those numbers are just dumb.

Frost mages are still good. Rogues are at a good place. Feral DPS on druids are just insane... Playing BG's over the weekend I was dumbstruck at the amount of damage they dish out now.

That being said, it's probably scaled for 100 since the new patch so not going to complain just yet.

Bleh. They nerfed Deep Freeze. Breaks on damage. Currently enjoying Destruction - Warlock.

Jeez finally! I suffered SO much flak from everyone when I was dps spec feral in raids. I couldn't commit to tanking as I didn't have time with studies even though I have MT'd Garrosh in LFRs but as soon as you're kitty dps everyone loses their minds...kinda like when shadow priests were dps spec instead of healers in dungeons. "zomg priest why no healz L2P!"

I still wont have much time to play...and using the work laptop so Im hesitant to even install addons...playing full on vanilla mode now so I can't even see what deeps Im doing on mobs. Really wish WoW would address this. You can't play their game effectively without external addons. Its a bit silly.

Im glad rogues are ok again...they were a lost cause a while back, but I still remember in WotLK, my assassination rogue pulled top dps with my 2x blue, speed 1.2, librarian's paper cutters (lvl187) kicking the okes asses using lvl232 weaps. Blizz corrected it after a few months, but i made a lot of okes very unhappy...even combat rogues with their swords/whatnot.

Yea. my whole rotation is borked. I used frost bomb as a crucial DPS now it does nothing but scatter your Frost lances to hit more targets... Deep freeze only stays for one hit used to last a few seconds and one could get in 4 lances before it ran out. Frost Bomb also no longer procs Frost fire bolt as an instant when it runs it's duration so it's random now. I still find it a fun class to play though. DPS is still very good.

Only addon I'm running now on WoW is recount for DPS meter. Will change at endgame again in WoD but recount isn't resource heavy at all.

Yeah it is, apparently all the classes are balanced at level 100, not so much at 90.

Just enjoying my lock more at the moment, mobs die insanely fast, and can tank easily 4+ mobs...

My warrior is in the best place she has been since Vanilla ;) Even my arms spec is holding up great for fast mob killing.

Decided to focus a bit more on my Paladin going forward, though I can not say that I like the changes to Holy paladins much. The instant heals were really great for PVP.

Need to check on parties cross realm a bit, then I can probably team up with some of the guys here. Or is that still not possible?
