Durbanville - supports 10mbits, however was syncing at 4 until I phoned Telkom and got them to do a reset on their side.

I'm in Durbanville (Cape Town, Tygervalley, Kenridge)
I used to get "your exchange does not support ADSL" although I have been on ADSL for 4.5 years !!
We are on the list of supported areas of "up to 10Mbps upgrades".
Now I get "This service can not be converted to 10Mbps Fastest DSL at this stage. Please check again in future as we are continually upgrading the network"
I am on 384kbps, I wonder if I switch to 4Mbps, will I get 8 -10 Mbps ... anybody else in this area ...
021 975xxxx ???

Waterfall, Durban - 031763 - No [Okay, so not likely, lol, but worth the check :-)]
Durban North - 031 546 - No
Westville North - 031 267 - No

Bah!

maybe we (mybb) should create an interface where we can submit the first 6 digits of our phone numbers and whether we are on 10meg and synching on adsl2+, or not. and then also be able to pull a report. or not.

I'm interested to see what proportion of the 19,000 users are syncing at the different speeds.

I'm round the corner from the exchange and I'm only getting min sync rate: 640kbps; max sync rate: 6144kbps

Willow Glen, Pretoria:
Your exchange supports up to 10Mbps fastest ADSL. The provision of such a service is subject to port availability, distance, copper quality and line sync speed limitations.

yeoville not a peep, everyday i see techs at the boxes running around looking so busy but nothing ahs been done so quit with the bs hellkom, you not upgrading a thing, you make me:sick:

BTW - why is the title "Are you ready for ultra high-speed?"
My mates in UK are on 50Mb and paying far less than us. Where's the "ultra high speed" now?

My Exchange Support 10mpbs.. Have been Running on 10mbps for at least 2 weeks now..
Only one problem with the higher speed..... If you use a account that supports 10mbps... 30gb's of cap is nothing... you can do quickly 5-10gb of cap now by only using youtube... (youtube HD works like a Charm, and there is no waiting in the HD clips). I made that small mistake, by "testing it quickly", 2 hours or so later, 10gb got chewed up..... :D

If only the data capacity would start to grow to a min of lets say 100gb pm @ a Really affordable rate

021 975xxxx ???

I'm on 021 975xxxx and synced at 8mbits. However, a couple of days their availability checker was reporting that I didn't have 10mbits access, it's only probably in the last day or two that they either a) updated the checker or b) updated the DSLAM I'm connected to. I would say give it a week and you'll likely find your line will be on the list of compatible numbers. Keep in mind that normally you *should* automatically resync at the faster speeds, but in my case I had to actually contact Telkom and get them to manually set me to 10mbits and then back down to 8 when my line was disconnecting every minute or so.
