Hello Boeing and Airbus,

I get different results for both my numbers (011 706 xxxx), in Bryanston.
Current ADSL line :Your exchange supports up to 10Mbps fastest ADSL. The provision of such a service is subject to port availability, distance, copper quality and line sync speed limitations.
Current Prepaid line: This service can not be converted to 10Mbps Fastest DSL at this stage. Please check again in future as we are continually upgrading the network.

Checking the router though it is still @ 4Mb/s

well my line is sync @ 2mbit now...:(

and the 10mbps checker says

This service can not be converted to 10Mbps Fastest DSL at this stage. Please check again in future as we are continually upgrading the network.

is ur line sync at 10mbps?
 
Im in Mayfair area, Johannesburg, not available yet.
Friend in Sunninghill Park, JHB, not available yet.

/me thinks this is BS !!!

Im generally confused as to why all the smaller towns/locations are getting the upgrades yet areas around major CBD's have nothing yet?
 
what a bunch of pathetic monkeys, i dont think they would know what 10mbps is if it bit there striking asses.:p

My ADSL line was down this morning when I awoke, phoned 0800375375 and the lady said Telkom are working at the exchange with upgrades and that our exchange supports 10Mb although the 10Mb ADSL Availability Checker still says it doesn't. Someone has to update the database for the Checker to be accurate.

Still on 4096 though. Walked over to the exchange and there is indeed two Telkom Vans parked outside. Something must be happening?

This whole procedure stinks

It appears to be premature

Why did Telkom not first get the infrastructure ready -- then do some sort of survey -- have a webpage for subscriber entries or something.

Then have a properly worked out program and procedure for these upgrades.

The whole thing just seems to be a thumb suck ad-hoc F^*&^%*&% UP

and as for the availability checker ........ ( shakes head )

Maybe they have lost their ONE dictionary and no longer know how to spell PLANNING

so are unable to process this word through the organisation :sick:

Not even on Uncapped 4 MegaBullPerSec ..

ISP can barely keep the 512 5GB line up and running, always on BS :sick:
