The irony is that the target market for the device is mobile (so people on the move), but yet they expect you to sit and wait at a fixed point for a delivery which might not come.

Update Just happened to be home for 15 minutes and they delivered at 12:45, but their estimated time of delivery is 13:54 on 30 August when i checked.

If I was MDS i would remove the time from the tracking system as that is incorrect info, and they have to do some route planning as well. I spoke to the delivery guy and he told me which areas he has been. He has been passing my area several times up and down.

I phoned them and the call center agent told me that I can leave the docs and originals with my wife or whoever, as long as the originals are present. Did any of you guys that have received your devises do this?

Libbie did it that way, but AfriGuy said that according to RICA it must be done by the account holder (ie in person).

I called Afrihost this morning to enquire about the billing and the Afrihost rep tells me that I will only be billed in Oct for the mobile account. Then I asked her if I find the mobile option not working out for me can I cancel at anytime and she replies yes anytime on the Afrihost client but you will then have to return the mifi device. I was excuse me return the mifi... mmm wasnt this free... anyways I ended the call and went to my email and went to look for the initial email that was sent, It looks like I was right according to the email. Can't believe they want to charge me if I cancel when they said you would get a free mifi. There was no term to getting the device or was there?

Hold on - enough about the delivery, the poor guys are getting there. What is this that the call center told him he needed to return the mifi if he cancels? I was planning on dropping down to 1gb as 5 is overkill for my needs for this, but I did not see any mention of a return policy in the terms and conditions?

Collivery 1213692 Status is : Delivery Driver Dispatched
Requested delivery before 16:00 on 30 August
Estimated time of delivery is 14:52 on 30 August
Driver is currently 2.4 Km from delivery point.
The tracking info doesn't really mean much. Just got my parcel delivered now (observatory, cpt)...woohoo! Driver said they're going to be working over the weekend trying to deliver these parcels. Maybe he just meant sorting them because I'd imagine the majority of addresses are work addresses which will be unoccupied during the wknd.

You can cancel after month one, and there is no returning of device...

Hi.
You can cancel the service but the MiFi is yours. You don't need to return it.
We will be upset though.
You have already been billed for September, you'll next get billed for October at the end of September.

You have to be there to hand over the documents.

Any idea when the next batch will be dispatched to Cape Town? :crying:

Order Placed 20-08-2013 10:50:17
Parcel Packed 27-08-2013 07:58:47
Pending Dispatch 27-08-2013 08:11:18

I enquired earlier today for someone, apparently the flooding in Cape Town has affected people's deliveries.

Yes but my order is still with Afrihost. It hasn't been handed over to the couriers yet. :(

Is the ClientZone up to date?

Seems that I will have to topup with Vodacom data after all. :banghead:

The last of last weeks preorders will be "leaving" Afrihost today. Hopefully yours will be among them.
